The incident came right after RUSH <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2026\/06\/rush-reunion-tour-kickoff-show-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">kicked off their current \u201cFifty Something\u201d reunion tour<\/a> in Los Angeles in early June.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/vivid-seats.pxf.io\/c\/1882189\/952533\/12730?subId1=rush%2Aneil-peart-bird-button&amp;subId2=&amp;subId3=&amp;sharedid=&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.vividseats.com%2Frush-tickets%2Fperformer%2F745\" class=\"button button-ticket\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Get RUSH Tickets Here<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The posters for RUSH\u2019s \u201cFifty Something\u201d tour feature two birds on a wire symbolizing Lee and guitarist Alex Lifeson, with a third departing midflight, representing Peart, who passed away at 67 in 2020 after a private battle with brain cancer.<\/p>\n<p>Lee was asked by Q107 Toronto radio host Joanne Wilder if he\u2019s felt Peart\u2019s presence on the current tour, to which Lee responded as follows:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">\u201cSpooky question! Well, it\u2019s funny. I\u2019ll tell you a little story. After the opening night, we were staying in L.A., and I was texting Al. We were in the same hotel, but we were texting each other.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">My door to my room was open a crack, and I don\u2019t know if you\u2019ve seen the posters that have two birds on a wire and the one bird is flying away. I looked in front of me, on the floor, and there was a bird on the floor that looked just like that bird in the poster.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">I was kind of shocked. And, you know, I love birds, so I approached it, and it flew by me and flew into my bedroom and sat on the edge of my bed. And when I approached it, it was like it was looking at me, and then it flew out the door. So, I quickly ran to the computer and was texting Al this crazy story that had just happened.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">Now, I\u2019m not a guy who believes in all that mumbo jumbo. But it was a kind of a remarkable moment, and as I was texting him, the bird returned and just stuck its head in the doorway, like to give me another nod. And then I said, \u2018Okay, bye,\u2019 and it flew away. It was crazy, crazy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Related Video<\/p>\n<p>After hearing Lee\u2019s story, Wilder remarked, \u201cOkay, well I will believe for you. If you don\u2019t want to believe, I will believe for you. That was Neil.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>RUSH are in the midst of a four-night run in their hometown of Toronto, with the shows being captured for a <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2026\/08\/rush-toronto-concert-film\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">future concert film<\/a>. Their North American run extends all the way into December, with <a style=\"display: inline !important;\" href=\"https:\/\/vivid-seats.pxf.io\/c\/1882189\/952533\/12730?subId1=rush&amp;subId2=neil-peart-bird&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.vividseats.com%2Frush-tickets%2Fperformer%2F745\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">tickets available here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A new documentary titled <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2026\/08\/rush-danny-carey-chad-smith-stewart-copeland-neil-peart-documentary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Neil Peart: No One\u2019s Disciple<\/em><\/a> is set to air on CBC on September 23rd.
