Also attached are <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/lightfold\/\" id=\"auto-tag_lightfold\" data-tag=\"lightfold\">Lightfold<\/a>, Olan Rogers\u2019 comics and animation studio aimed at creators. We can reveal today that L.A. publishing house <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/gungnir\/\" id=\"auto-tag_gungnir\" data-tag=\"gungnir\">Gungnir<\/a> has also boarded the project. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A crowdfunder round held in collaboration with Lightfold has launched to raise further financing. A first-look trailer has dropped on YouTube to support the raise. You can see that above.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last week, Flying Bark and Lightfold dropped a teaser for the project, but no key details were dropped at the time. We\u2019ve now got word on the fun-looking antics it could provide.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here\u2019s the <em>Doomsweepers<\/em> synopsis: \u201cSet in a mysterious research facility, Doomsweepers follows a team of misfit janitors who go from cleaning the staff room one day, to saving the world the next, and in doing so they unravel the facility\u2019s best kept secret.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Producers say the \u201ccandy-coloured art direction brings a unique, vibrant energy to the show that provides a visual point of difference from traditional dark, dystopian, apocalyptic content.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Flying Bark is a 2D animation specialist based in Australia, with studio locations in Sydney, L.A. and Madrid. Recent productions include Netflix\u2019s\u00a0<em>Stranger Things: Tales From \u201985<\/em>, Paramount\u2019s\u00a0<em>Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender<\/em> and original series\u00a0<em>Shaun Tan\u2019s Tales from Outer Suburbia<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lightfold, meanwhile, launched in 2023 to develop animated projects that have a direct connection to fans. <em>Final Space<\/em>\u00a0creator Rogers and producer Forrester Kane created the biz, with the former\u2019s crowdfunded animation pilot\u00a0<em>Godspeed<\/em> its debut project. It launched on YouTube three years ago and has received more than 2.2 million views.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gungnir is known primarily as a counter-culture comics publisher, but has struck a series of deals to develop properties as TV shows and films, and vice-versa. In December 2025, it <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/12\/gungnir-animation-studio-cartoon-network-of-digital-era-1236643117\/\">launched<\/a> Gungnir Animation Studio to become \u201cthe Cartoon Network of the digital era.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Harper \u2013 a writer, director and showrunner known for work on Lego\u2019s <em>Monkie Kid<\/em> franchise and Nickelodeon\u2019s <em>Glitch Techs<\/em> and <em>Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles<\/em> \u2013 developed the \u201cdeeply personal project inspired by unsung heroes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She added: \u201cThe idea for <em>Doomsweepers<\/em> was born in 2019, when Australia was battling catastrophic bushfires, only to be hit by a global pandemic soon after. In those moments of uncertainty, I found myself drawn to the stories of everyday people who stepped up when it mattered most.\u00a0<br \/><em><br \/><\/em>\u201cThe Doomsweepers aren\u2019t your typical heroes: they\u2019re janitors in a tech facility, overlooked and underestimated.
