Additional casting for the Off-Broadway production will be announced at a later date.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tPerformances for <em>Faydra<\/em> begin at New York City Center, Stage 1, starting Feb. 2, 2027, with an opening night scheduled for Feb. 25.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tWhile best known for her film work, including her Academy Award-winning performance in <em>Still Alice<\/em> and roles in films such as <em>Boogie Nights, The Big Lebowski, Far From Heaven, The End of the Affair, The Hours <\/em>and <em>May December, <\/em>Moore got her start on the stage. She has since appeared on Broadway in 2006 in David Hare\u2019s drama <em>The Vertical Hour<\/em> and in the stage workshop of <em>Uncle Vanya<\/em>, which she worked on with director Andre Gregory for four years, with that process later turned into a film.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tRuhl has previously penned <em>The Clean House<\/em>, <em>Eurydice<\/em>, <em>For Peter Pan on Her 70th Birthday<\/em>, and the Tony Award-nominated <em>In the Next Room (or the vibrator play). <\/em>Both <em>The Clean House<\/em> and <em>In the Next Room<\/em> were Pulitzer Prize finalists.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tMoore previously worked with Waters on Caryl Churchill\u2019s <em>Ice Cream with Hot Fudge<\/em> at the Public <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/theater-0\/\" id=\"auto-tag_theater-0_1\" data-tag=\"theater-0\">Theater<\/a> in 1990, while Ruhl is a frequent collaborator with Waters.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cThere\u2019s nothing like watching a homegrown Manhattan Theatre Club commission become a magnet for talent,\u201d said MTC Artistic Director Nicki Hunter. \u201cSarah Ruhl\u2019s bold, funny, and devastating reimagining of this classic tale will draw the immensely gifted Julianne Moore back to the stage, and mark Les Waters\u2019 return to MTC after three decades.
