The movie was named Best Iconic Film in the 2023 Family Film Awards.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cForever the teacher, she had a quote for every occasion and a special way of touching the lives and hearts of everyone she met,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHer magic and love will be remembered by all she took under her generous and welcoming wings.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Moore died on Wednesday, a statement shared on her Facebook page said. <span class=\"credit\">Facebook \/ Tedde Moore<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Moore was also nominated for a Genie Award in 1984 for her role in \u201cA Christmas Story.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She revealed she still called her co-stars \u201cboys\u201d in a video from January 2021, almost 40 years after the movie\u2019s release.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just wanted to tell you how much it has meant to me to be part of the Christmas Story family,\u201d she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=83liU2DFI-A\">said in a YouTube video.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cNone of us would be here today if it weren\u2019t for the gigantic heart of Bob Clark and who had the very good sense to recognize the cinematic quality of the extraordinary heartfelt writing of Jean Shepherd.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Tedde Moore&amp;apos;s Heartfelt Message to A Christmas Story Fans | Miss Shields Speaks Out!\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/83liU2DFI-A?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThe fact that the boys and I, and yes I still call them the boys, are still friends after nearly 40 years, still family, has everything to do with heart, because that\u2019s how Bob chose his actors.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Moore reprised her role as Miss Shields in the 1994 flick, \u201cIt Runs in the Family\u201d \u2013 a sequel to \u201cA Christmas Story.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ralphie was played by Kieran Culkin \u2013 who played Fuller in the classic Christmas movies \u201cHome Alone\u201d and \u201cHome Alone 2: Lost in New York.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Moore alongside her late husband Donald Shebib, and their children Suzanna and Noah.  <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Moore also has acting credits for roles in \u201cOvernight,\u201d \u201cRolling Vengeance,\u201d \u201cTaking Care of Terrific,\u201d and \u201cT and T\u201d during the 1980s, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0601925\/\">according to her IMDB<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In the 1990s, she starred in the TV movies \u201cThe Man in the Attic,\u201d \u201cThe Deliverance of Elaine,\u201d and \u201cNo Higher Love.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Moore was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2009, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/tedde-moore-dead-a-christmas-story-teacher-ralphie-1236669867\/\">according to the Hollywood Reporter<\/a>, but continued to appear on-screen.<\/p>\n<p>One of her final roles came in The Kennedys where she starred in three episodes in 2011, playing Mrs. Shaw.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In the same year, she appeared alongside former model Tricia Helfer in the John Bradshaw-directed TV festive flick \u201cMistletoe over Manhattan,\u201d playing Rebecca Claus.<\/p>\n<p>Moore\u2019s final acting credit came in 2017, appearing in \u201cHer Magical Christmas.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The actress was married to the late Canadian director Donald Shebib, who was known for the 1970 drama movie \u201cGoin\u2019 Down the Road.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Moore and Shebib had two children \u2013 former child stars Suzanna and Noah.<\/p>\n<p>She had a daughter Zoe from a previous romance with the actor Patrick Christopher Carter.
