Two days after Greenland\u2019s warning last week, Trump posted an AI-generated image on Truth Social depicting himself looming over a Greenlandic village, with the caption: \u201cHello Greenland.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5749665\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5749665\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5749665\" src=\"https:\/\/am13.mediaite.com\/med\/cnt\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Screenshot-2026-08-10-at-09-58-12.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1168\" height=\"978\" \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-5749665\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">(Screengrab via Truth Social)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Greenland stopped issuing new oil licenses in 2021 over environmental concerns, but British company 80 Mile previously secured exploration rights in Jameson Land. Corporate filings show Greenland Energy plans to acquire a majority stake in that project in return for financing exploration, subject to government approval.<\/p>\n<p>The company has proposed spending $60 million on exploratory drilling.
