It\u2019s also good for the kids without overwhelming them.<\/p>\n<p id=\"eKLXXJyzzkF\" data-wc=\"38\">\u201cThey\u2019re very natural when they\u2019re out \u2013 they sat among the crowd and weren\u2019t given special treatment. They know they get privileges and I\u2019m sure they\u2019re told that it\u2019s a great honour for them to meet these athletes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"eRxO-6xxzxx\" data-wc=\"25\">Robert adds: \u201cLouis is a character, there\u2019s no doubt about that. It runs in the family: the Princess\u2019s parents, Michael and <a class=\"hm-link he-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hellomagazine.com\/tags\/carole-middleton\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"article-body-link\">Carole Middleton<\/a>, encouraged Kate and her siblings, Pippa and James, to participate in sport while they were growing up, in the belief that it would build confidence.<\/p>\n<p id=\"eFsR5I4spcBC\" data-wc=\"50\">The Middletons\u2019 influence does not end there, with William and Kate having incorporated Carole\u2019s hands-on approach to parenting \u2013 dubbed \u201cthe Middleton model\u201d by commentators \u2013 in their own family life. This includes spending plenty of time outdoors, sitting down together for family meals and imparting a strong work ethic.<\/p>\n<p id=\"e1tpuIpX3ewV\" data-wc=\"72\">&#8220;I had a very happy childhood. It was great fun. I&#8217;m very lucky,\u201d Kate has said. \u201cI come from a very strong family. My parents were hugely dedicated to us. Now, as a parent, I really appreciate how much they sacrificed for us. They would come to every sports match \u2013 I was very keen on sport. I have tried hard to be a listening grandmother and mother-in-law.
