The first-week number is the best Grande has had for any album since 2019. It\u2019s a sizable uptick from the 227,000 that her previous album, \u201cEternal Sunshine,\u201d opened with in 2024. It also outdoes the first weeks for \u201cSweetener\u201d and \u201cPositions.\u201d Among all of her eight studio albums, only \u201cThank U, Next\u201d had a bigger opening, with 360,000 units seven years ago.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tOf the 295,000 units Grande registered for the past week, album sales were responsible for 168,000 of those, adding up to her second-best sales week ever, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/chart-beat\/ariana-grande-petal-number-one-billboard-200-chart-1236312334\/?bt_ee=C5agatxE2%2B85lkquNvYdfukKkyRukk8a60yylQI%2FdPY%3D&amp;bt_ts=1786302284737\" target=\"_blank\">Billboard<\/a>. (Only \u201cMy Everything\u201d in 2014 had a bigger pure sales week for Grande.) A sizable 96,000 of the units registered for \u201cPetal\u201d were sold on vinyl. The new album\u2019s on-demand streams added up to 128.83 million, translating to 126,000 SEA units.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tApart from Grande\u2019s entree on top, there was little difference in this week\u2019s top 10 from last week\u2019s \u2014 with the exception of Charli xcx\u2019s latest, \u201cMusic, Fashion, Film,\u201d dropping out of the top 10, after debuting last week at No. 3 with 75,000 units. (How far Charli fell isn\u2019t yet known; Billboard releases only the top 10 on Sunday, with the remainder of the Billboard 200 to come on Monday.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/morgan-wallen\/\" id=\"auto-tag_morgan-wallen\" data-tag=\"morgan-wallen\">Morgan Wallen<\/a> and Noah Kahan remain the only artists to each have two albums in the top 10 at present.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe other nine albums following Grande\u2019s in the top 10: Wallen\u2019s \u201cI\u2019m the Problem,\u201d which was No. 1 last week, falling a spot to No. 2, with 75,000 units; Olivia Rodrigo\u2019s \u201cYou Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love,\u201d down one slot to No. 3 with 74,000; and Ella Langley\u2019s \u201cDandelion\u201d at No. 4, Kahan\u2019s \u201cThe Great Divide\u201d at No. 5, Drake\u2019s \u201cIceman\u201d at No. 6, Wallen\u2019s \u201cOne Thing at a Time\u201d at No. 7, Olivia Dean\u2019s \u201cThe Art of Loving\u201d at No. 8, Michael Jackson\u2019s \u201cThriller\u201d at No. 9 and Kahan\u2019s \u201cStick Season\u201d at No. 10.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tGrande has an excellent shot at being No. 1 for at least one more week after this, as well, given the lack of newly arriving superstar releases. The most notable releases from this past Friday that may impact the next chart came from Role Model and Ravyn Lenae, who aren\u2019t likely to topple Grande.
