She called an urgent care medical line and was advised to head to the nearest hospital emergency room.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">A shocking photo shows her <a data-omtr-intcmp=\"fnc_health_article_main-content_article-body_6_357432\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/health\/beauty-and-skin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">red, raw and swollen eyes.<\/a> After being seen by a nurse in the eye unit at Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Hinchingbrooke, Cambridge, it was confirmed she&#8217;d suffered an allergic reaction to the eyelash extensions.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\"><a data-omtr-intcmp=\"fnc_health_article_main-content_article-body_6_357433\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/health\/weight-loss-drugs-linked-ozempic-ears-cosmetic-complaints-surgeons-say\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>WEIGHT-LOSS DRUGS LINKED TO &#8216;OZEMPIC EARS&#8217; AND OTHER COSMETIC COMPLAINTS, SURGEONS SAY<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">She was given a course of <a data-omtr-intcmp=\"fnc_health_article_main-content_article-body_6_357434\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/health\/healthy-living\/medications\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">antibiotics and antihistamines<\/a>, and told to wait three days for the swelling to go down before getting the false lashes removed.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">&#8220;To keep the eyes safe, [artificial] lashes should be applied by an experienced aesthetician in a sanitary setting, with chemicals that are safe for your skin,&#8221; said Rebecca J. But one suffered a severe allergic reaction to an eyelash extension procedure.<\/span> <span>(iStock)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">Infection can also result, Taylor said, from inadequate hygiene in the salon or damage to the eye during application.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">Even though her skin is now slowly healing, Bibby of Cambridgeshire, in <a data-omtr-intcmp=\"fnc_health_article_main-content_article-body_6_357436\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/travel\/regions\/europe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the United Kingdom,<\/a> feared her eyes would still be red by the time she said &#8220;I do&#8221; to her to 29-year-old fianc\u00e9, Benjamin May.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">She said she&#8217;s been sharing her experience to warn other brides about getting certain treatments so close to their big day.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-layout-index=\"5\" class=\"pull-quote\">\n<p class=\"quote-text\">&#8220;I just didn&#8217;t look like myself.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p> <!----><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">&#8220;I don&#8217;t wear that much makeup,&#8221; she told Kennedy News &amp; Media. &#8220;Getting married is the biggest day of your life, so I just wanted to test out different makeup and actually feel like a princess for the day.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">She said it was a trial for her wedding, as she&#8217;d &#8220;never had my\u00a0eyelashes done before.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/newsletters?cmpid=fnfirstnl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><u>CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR HEALTH NEWSLETTER<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">About four or five hours after the appointment, her partner looked at her eyes, she said, and thought they were a little red.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">&#8220;By that evening, they had gone red, raw and were stinging. The only way I can describe [how I looked] is the man from &#8216;The Goonies&#8217; with the big puffy eyes called Sloth. I just didn&#8217;t look like myself.
