{"id":34345,"date":"2026-08-09T10:09:35","date_gmt":"2026-08-09T05:09:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/usnews-14267fa.ingress-comporellon.ewp.live\/?p=34345"},"modified":"2026-08-09T10:09:35","modified_gmt":"2026-08-09T05:09:35","slug":"laura-wright-renews-contract-at-general-hospital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/usnews-14267fa.ingress-comporellon.ewp.live\/?p=34345","title":{"rendered":"Laura Wright Renews Contract at &#8216;General Hospital&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script>\r\n  atOptions = {\r\n    'key' : '644b717812d811d6a1c1fc5b6ccd6fa6',\r\n    'format' : 'iframe',\r\n    'height' : 90,\r\n    'width' : 728,\r\n    'params' : {}\r\n  };\r\n<\/script>\r\n<script src=\"https:\/\/www.highperformanceformat.com\/644b717812d811d6a1c1fc5b6ccd6fa6\/invoke.js\"><\/script>\r\n<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Laura Wright<\/strong>, who made her daytime debut in 1991 portraying Ally Rescott on \u201cLoving\u201d and continued in the role on the spinoff series \u201cThe City,\u201d is sticking around at \u201cGeneral Hospital,\u201d where she\u2019s played Carly Spencer since November 2005.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-771276\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a post on <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/lldubs\/status\/2086088062468338049\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/x.com\/lldubs\/status\/2086088062468338049\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">X (formerly Twitter)<\/a>, in response to a fan who indicated they\u2019d stop watching the daytime drama series should she ever leave, Wright responded, stating, \u201cI\u2019m not going anywhere\u2026 just signed a new contract !!!\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The news of Wright signing a new deal with the soap opera comes weeks after co-star <strong>Nancy Lee Grahn<\/strong> (Alexis Davis) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.soapoperanetwork.com\/2026\/06\/nancy-lee-grahn-general-hospital-contract\">revealed<\/a> on \u201cSoapy Hosted by Rebecca Budig and Greg Rikaart\u201d that she too had signed a new three-year contract with the long-running series, though in Wright\u2019s case, she didn\u2019t indicate contract length.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additionally, sources tell <em>Soap Opera Network<\/em> that several of the show\u2019s stars have also recently re-upped, though Wright and Grahn are just two of the names who\u2019ve publicly disclosed their status.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before entering the world of Port Charles, and following her successful run on \u201cLoving\u201d (1991-1995) and \u201cThe City\u201d (1995-1997), Wright went on to portray Cassie Layne on \u201cGuiding Light,\u201d winning a\u00a0Soap Opera Digest\u00a0Award for Favorite New Character in 1998. The actors have been friends ever since and have enjoyed working together on \u201cGeneral Hospital.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cUnlike most soap couples, love that Carly and Val know the good &amp; bad in each other and there\u2019s no judging.
