The network stuck with David Cone, Paul O\u2019Neill and Joe Girardi as its three main analysts.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wouldn\u2019t say it was a surprise,\u201d Flaherty said while wearing the pinstripes Saturday, when he was back in The Bronx for Old-Timers\u2019 Day. \u201cIt was definitely something that I think I saw coming.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been an adjustment.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>An adjustment that took a little while to sink in. But once he accepted that he did not have a big league season to cover and could choose how he spent his time, \u201cIt was fantastic.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter before transitioning immediately to TV work that completely occupied him during baseball season.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is my first major league season in 38 years where I haven\u2019t been part of a schedule, so it\u2019s been great,\u201d said Flaherty, who had just returned from a trip to Italy.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube
