public discussion about her body weight.<\/p>\n<p>The actress, 53, took to <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/social-media\/\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\">social media<\/a> to share a 13-part video in which she discussed her diagnosis of mast cell disease and mast cell activation syndrome, her symptoms and how she hopes opening up about her experience can help others,<\/p>\n<p>She started the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DbxmwzKmy1J\/?hl=en&amp;img_index=13\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DbxmwzKmy1J\/?hl=en&amp;img_index=13\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">multi-part post <\/a>saying: \u2018As I\u2019m sure you\u2019re aware, anytime I post a photo of myself, I receive an enormous amount of comments telling me how disgusting I look and I\u2019m anorexic or I\u2019m on meth or that I\u2019ve lost so much weight.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The screen star continued: \u2018First off, I\u2019ve lost my entire family, except my precious daughter, in a short amount of time.\u2019 Beckinsale\u2019s mother, <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/07\/18\/kate-beckinsale-paralysed-grief-mother-died-arms-23691733\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/07\/18\/kate-beckinsale-paralysed-grief-mother-died-arms-23691733\/\">Judy Loe, died in July 2025 after a cancer diagnosis, <\/a>just 18 months after she <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2024\/04\/21\/kate-beckinsale-cant-take-christmas-trees-due-grief-20687320\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2024\/04\/21\/kate-beckinsale-cant-take-christmas-trees-due-grief-20687320\/\">lost her stepfather Roy Battersby in January 2024.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2018The second thing is, I have a condition, which is an autoimmune condition called mast cell activation syndrome, and there\u2019s another one called mast cell disease, and there\u2019s mastocytosis.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018This is something that I was diagnosed with 16 years ago, and I was really, really lucky that I had an amazing GP in London who called it and sent me to, at that point, the one guy in the world in New \u2018don\u2019t know what\u2019s going on in people\u2019s lives.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>She noted: \u2018Treat people just how you\u2019d like to be treated yourself, give people a little grace.
