Interestingly, Marvel has revisited this event via <em>Civil War: Unmasked<\/em>, as well as its newest <em>What If\u2026?<\/em> one-shot, which demonstrates that Marvel is also aware of how profoundly significant it\u2019s been for the last <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/spider-man-civil-war-origin-change\/\" target=\"_blank\">20 years of Marvel comics lore<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>    <!-- No AdsNinja v10 Client! --><!-- No AdsNinja v10 Client! --><\/p>\n<p>For instance, Peter Parker\u2019s life would never be the same after first agreeing to Tony Stark\u2019s Pro-Registration faction of <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/captain-america-civil-war-sokovia-accords\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Civil War<\/em>\u2019s Superhuman Registration Act<\/a> and later swapping to Steve Rogers\u2019 Anti-Registration faction. The <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/civil-war-thor-kill-goliath-avengers-forever-comics\/\" target=\"_blank\">Thor clone ended up killing Goliath<\/a>, enraging the real Thor when he eventually came back to life and returned to Earth to see the horrific condition it was in, what acts had been committed in his name, and how they had tampered with his genetic code.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/thor-humiliated-iron-man-as-revenge-for-his-civil-war-betrayal\/\" target=\"_blank\">Thor and Iron Man\u2019s ensuing fight<\/a> is all the proof we need that Thor would\u2019ve assumed the role of the Anti-Registration team leader if Steve had still been entombed in ice, though that would also require him to have either survived the fall of Asgard during Ragnarok somehow or been resurrected before <em>Civil War<\/em> started.
