{"id":33945,"date":"2026-08-09T05:02:57","date_gmt":"2026-08-09T00:02:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/usnews-14267fa.ingress-comporellon.ewp.live\/?p=33945"},"modified":"2026-08-09T05:02:57","modified_gmt":"2026-08-09T00:02:57","slug":"morrissey-cancels-this-months-four-show-las-vegas-residency","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/usnews-14267fa.ingress-comporellon.ewp.live\/?p=33945","title":{"rendered":"Morrissey Cancels This Month&#8217;s Four-Show Las Vegas Residency"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script>\r\n  atOptions = {\r\n    'key' : '644b717812d811d6a1c1fc5b6ccd6fa6',\r\n    'format' : 'iframe',\r\n    'height' : 90,\r\n    'width' : 728,\r\n    'params' : {}\r\n  };\r\n<\/script>\r\n<script src=\"https:\/\/www.highperformanceformat.com\/644b717812d811d6a1c1fc5b6ccd6fa6\/invoke.js\"><\/script>\r\n<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<!-- do not apply CSS styles to this element! --><\/p>\n<div class=\"pmc-paywall\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/morrissey\/\" id=\"auto-tag_morrissey\" data-tag=\"morrissey\">Morrissey<\/a>, the ex-Smiths frontman with a penchant for canceling shows, has added to his track record: All four performances of his planned August Las Vegas residency have been scrubbed. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The four-show stand at the Wynn Las Vegas\u2019 Encore Theater was set to begin August 14 and wrap up August 19, but ticket-holders received an email yesterday announcing the latest turn of events, according to a report by Deadline sister publication Rolling Stone today.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHello, we regret to inform you that Morrissey \u2013 Live in Concert, scheduled for August 14, 15, 18, and 19 at Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas, has been canceled,\u201d the email reads. \u201cDue to unforeseen logistical issues, the scheduled Las Vegas residency cannot take place.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event has been removed from The Wynn\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wynnlasvegas.com\/entertainment\/upcoming-shows\" target=\"_blank\">Entertainment page<\/a>, and listings on Ticketmaster indicate, \u201cUnfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event.\u201d When Rolling Stone broke the story this morning, Morrissey\u2019s official website still listed the shows, but no more: The site\u2019s<a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.themorrisseyofficial.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"> tour page<\/a> indicates the next show as Chicago\u2019s Riot Fest on September 19. (The singer is also set to perform on September 26 at New York City\u2019s CBGB Fesival, alongside Patti Smith, Buzzcocks, Bikini Kill and other punk pioneers).<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Morrissey last performed on August 1 in Portugal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As Rolling Stone notes, Morrissey \u201chas become somewhat notorious for canceling or postponing gigs for a wide variety of reasons,\u201d canceling 22 scheduled performances in 2025 alone, with another 10 postponed.
