There has not, in eight years of TV dominance, been a reason for Sheridan to don his finest cowboy wear for the main Emmys ceremony. (Below-the-line awards like these are awarded during the earlier Creative Arts Awards ceremony.)<\/p>\n<p>Considering the sheer mass of television Sheridan has produced for Paramount and its various platforms, it might be seen as a bit surprising that so many of his series have gone unrecognized \u2014 especially considering the roster of acclaimed actors who have starred in them, including Kevin Costner, Sylvester Stallone, Nicole Kidman, Helen Mirren, Harrison Ford, and more.<\/p>\n<p>Related Video<\/p>\n<p>Just this year, 2026\u2019s <i>The Madison<\/i> premiered in March \u2014 a choice premiere date for shows hoping for Emmys, with Michelle Pfeiffer starring. TV Academy voters clearly don\u2019t hate Pfeiffer, as they did nominate her for her supporting role in this year\u2019s <i>Margo\u2019s Got Money Troubles<\/i>. But the Paramount+ series (which also starred Kurt Russell) went ignored.<\/p>\n<p>The cause for this level of snubbing has two potential causes, one being that Sheridan has always been vocal about not wanting to be a part of the Hollywood system; just a few weeks ago, he <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/06\/30\/entertainment\/yellowstone-creator-taylor-sheridan-eviscerates-studio-execs-critics-fk-em-honestly\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">went on a tirade<\/a> about his lack of respect for TV executives and critics. Critics don\u2019t vote for the Emmys, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.televisionacademy.com\/academy\/organization\/peer-groups\/television-executives\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">TV executives do<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of critics, there\u2019s another factor: The shows we\u2019re talking about here, while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/1272778\/taylor-sheridan-tv-shows-ratings-yellowstone-dutton-ranch-marshals-landman\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">watched by a large audience<\/a>, are not exactly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.metacritic.com\/person\/taylor-sheridan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">critically acclaimed<\/a>. Popularity and quality are not exclusive concepts, but in this case one doesn\u2019t seem to make up for the other.<\/p>\n<p>In 2028, this will stop being Paramount\u2019s problem, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-news\/taylor-sheridan-leave-paramount-for-nbcuniversal-film-tv-1236410489\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Sheridan is leaving his original studio<\/a> for a lucrative new deal with NBC Universal. In the meantime, maybe the 2026 <i>Tulsa King<\/i> nomination will break this losing streak\u2026 Presuming it can beat out <i>Beef<\/i>.
