Which is a great place to start when you\u2019re looking to dodge tariff costs and save your budget. While we\u2019re not exactly sure how <a style=\"color:#0f6161\" href=\"https:\/\/www.moneylion.com\/trending\/money\/what-roaring-recovery-why-tariffs-rent-groceries-leave-Americans-poorer\/?utm_medium=rss&amp;utm_campaign=c3-in_content_link_|_c4-features&amp;medium=rss&amp;campaign_id=c3-in_content_link_|_c4-features\" class=\"Actionable_root__gYRbW Link_root__f6YnY Link_--variant-underline__ewwU2 Link_--color-inherit___v63X\"><span style=\"display:inline\" class=\"Text_root__l8CkT Text_--weight-bold__PDVlx\">tariffs impact<\/span><\/a> book prices specifically, borrowing instead of buying books can create some wiggle room in your budget.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Text_root__l8CkT Text_--variant-body-2__q78Vy Text_--variant-body-1--m__3LiHS\" style=\"--rs-text-align-s:start\">Libraries can help you dodge tariffs in other ways, as well. Many libraries now offer a \u201cLibrary of Things,\u201d and Rog\u00e9 said these \u201cthings\u201d can include \u201celectronics, musical instruments, outdoor games and even odds and ends like birthday yard signs.\u201d My local library even offers tables and tents for patrons to borrow.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"scroll-margin-top:5rem\" id=\"repair-instead-of-replacing\" class=\"Text_root__l8CkT Text_--variant-title-4--m__TbTu_ Text_--variant-featured-2__NZyQc\">Repair Instead of Replacing<\/h2>\n<p class=\"Text_root__l8CkT Text_--variant-body-2__q78Vy Text_--variant-body-1--m__3LiHS\" style=\"--rs-text-align-s:start\">One thing that Rog\u00e9 pointed out is that costs for services aren\u2019t going up as quickly as costs for goods, so another way to avoid tariffs is to repair rather than replace certain items. He uses a couch as an example: \u201cInstead of buying a new couch, hire a skilled repair person to reupholster the one you have.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"Text_root__l8CkT Text_--variant-body-2__q78Vy Text_--variant-body-1--m__3LiHS\" style=\"--rs-text-align-s:start\">Buying items that are built to be repaired rather than \u201ccheap, throwaway goods is the most sustainable way to avoid repeat purchases that are themselves subject to tariffs.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"scroll-margin-top:5rem\" id=\"buy-out-a-leased-vehicle\" class=\"Text_root__l8CkT Text_--variant-title-4--m__TbTu_ Text_--variant-featured-2__NZyQc\">Buy Out a Leased Vehicle<\/h2>\n<p class=\"Text_root__l8CkT Text_--variant-body-2__q78Vy Text_--variant-body-1--m__3LiHS\" style=\"--rs-text-align-s:start\">Rog\u00e9 pointed out that <a style=\"color:#0f6161\" href=\"https:\/\/moneylion.com\/trending\/money\/affordable-used-cars-with-engines-just-as-good-as-new\/?utm_medium=rss&amp;utm_campaign=c3-in_content_link_%7C_c4-features&amp;medium=rss&amp;campaign_id=c3-in_content_link_%7C_c4-features\" class=\"Actionable_root__gYRbW Link_root__f6YnY Link_--variant-underline__ewwU2 Link_--color-inherit___v63X\"><span style=\"display:inline\" class=\"Text_root__l8CkT Text_--weight-bold__PDVlx\">used car<\/span><\/a> prices aren\u2019t depreciating nearly as rapidly as they used to.
