The expected mad dash for tickets \u2014 only available at the venue\u2019s box office \u2014 ensued, with fans lining up in heat that was technically 91 degrees but with a \u201creal feel\u201d of 105. But of course, the venue was packed long before the 8 p.m. showtime, even though it was just as hot inside. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tRodrigo, clad in a red flowered schoolgirl dress and black go-go boots, dove in at the deep end, starting the set ambitiously with the album\u2019s first single, \u201cDrop Dead\u201d \u2014 a challenging song to sing, with its upper-register chorus that offers few opportunities to take a breath \u2014\u00a0but she pulled it off with ease. \u201cWe\u2019re going to be playing a lot of songs from my new album for this first time,\u201d she said, and promptly obliged with three more tracks <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/music\/album-reviews\/olivia-rodrigo-album-review-pretty-sad-for-girl-so-in-love-1236778775\/\">from \u201cYou Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love,\u201d <\/a>concluding with the Wet Leg-esque \u201cMy Way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tHer five-piece band was razor-sharp \u2014\u00a0they\u2019ve played a number of concerts this year, from the Primavera Festival in Spain and \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d to a surprise cameo with the Smashing Pumpkins at Lollapalooza last weekend \u2014 but apart from an \u201cAustin City Limits\u201d taping last weekend, this was indeed the first time most of the eight new songs have been performed for a concert audience. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x\"\/>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAfter the opening blast, Rodrigo then sat at the keyboard for a brace of ballads from her previous albums, including \u201cDrivers License,\u201d before rolling out four more new songs \u2014 including the fan favorites \u201cMaggots for Brains\u201d and \u201cThe Cure,\u201d the latter of which she said is \u201cprobably\u201d her favorite song from the album, as well as an emotional debut performance of \u201cLess Than\u201d \u2014\u00a0before finishing off the set with \u201cGood 4 U\u201d and \u201cD\u00e9j\u00e0 Vu.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThroughout the set, she was her usual effervescent self, bouncing, spinning, holding out her arms, pumping her fists and leading the audience in several singalongs \u2014 and not a word about her <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/music\/news\/olivia-rodrigo-slams-donald-trump-planned-parenthood-1236828564\/\">latest altercation with the president<\/a>. The \u201cPretty Sad\u201d songs were note-perfect, but new material always takes a few gigs to break in and it\u2019s likely they\u2019ll be looser as time goes on.
