Watch what works, as those same techniques will likely be used against YOU.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><strong>What to watch:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Persuasion bots.<\/strong> Campaigns <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2026\/07\/12\/nx-s1-5867763\/ai-artificial-intelligence-data-texts-bots-voters-campaigns\" target=\"_blank\">are training text bots<\/a> to hold back-and-forth conversations in their candidate&#8217;s voice. Some voters engage for HOURS, granting precise knowledge of what ideas and language move them most. Yale researchers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cambridge.org\/core\/journals\/journal-of-experimental-political-science\/article\/framework-to-assess-the-persuasion-risks-large-language-model-chatbots-pose-to-democratic-societies\/AB0627A88FEBF023094B8A373F64ECA2\" target=\"_blank\">found<\/a> a bot that admits it&#8217;s a bot is just as persuasive to people as one posing as a human.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Simulated voters.<\/strong> Political operatives <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2026\/04\/14\/republicans-ai-campaigns-democrats-2026\" target=\"_blank\">are running AI agents<\/a> that mass-produce synthetic voters and test ads against them. This helps fine-tune the perfect message \u2014 including any words and images \u2014 before it ever reaches any actual human voters.<\/li>\n<li><strong>AI firehose. <\/strong>Those Yale researchers found AI&#8217;s conversational persuasion doesn&#8217;t practically scale and noted that flooding social media could be the cheaper play.
