During an August 5 appearance on \u201cWatch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,\u201d Riley admitted their relationship is \u201c<strong>not the same<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<strong>You know, the divorce shifted a lot of things in my life,<\/strong>\u201d she explained. \u201c<strong>So, it\u2019s not only the divorce \u2014 it\u2019s also everything else that comes with that.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite the changes, Riley said they are trying to preserve their blended family.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<strong>You know, we\u2019re trying to still be a blended family,<\/strong>\u201d she continued. \u201c<strong>But there are some things that irk my nerves. You know, you sometimes look at his social media, and I\u2019m like, \u2018What is going on here?\u2019 But we\u2019re OK<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Riley previously explained how difficult the split was while filming Next Gen NYC Season 2.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<strong>I will say that yes, a divorce happens between two people, but it affects more than just those two people. So it is really hard for me<\/strong>,\u201d she said. \u201c<strong>I had a hard time recently, and during filming I had a hard time as well, \u2018cause that\u2019s when I first learned about everything, so it\u2019s just been a year of adapting. It\u2019s tough at times, it\u2019s easy at times, it\u2019s confusing. I\u2019m still learning, honestly<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Still, watching Kandi navigate the divorce gave Riley a new perspective on her mother.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<strong>I\u2019ve learned from my mom that there are a lot of things that she protects in herself, how strong she is, how courageous, because of all the stuff I didn\u2019t even know,<\/strong>\u201d Riley said. \u201c<strong>She wants to protect me the most she can.
