I guess that would be it, right? I don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOh, I think about that one.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Raised near Savannah, Georgia, Dasher has previously said that she grew up on \u201990s country music. After graduating from college, she moved to\u00a0Nashville, Tennessee to pursue a career in country music. Dasher has previously said that she worked selling boats and outboard motors at Bass Pro Shops to support herself before being fired for writing songs while on the job.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Hannah Dasher performs at The Troubadour on Nov. 1, 2019 in Los Angeles, California.  <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In 2013, she landed her first publishing deal with BMG Chrysalis and later signed with Sony\/ATV Music Publishing in partnership with Jaren Johnston of The Cadillac Three. Dasher\u2019s first major break as a songwriter came in 2017, when Brad Paisley recorded her co-written song \u201cGo to Bed Early\u201d for his \u201cLove and War\u201d album, marking her first cut for a major label.<\/p>\n<p>During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dasher launched her viral TikTok cooking series, \u201cStand By Your Pan,\u201d where she mixes Southern recipes with country music and comedy. The series quickly attracted more than a million followers and helped introduce her to audiences beyond traditional country music fans.<\/p>\n<p>Dasher signed a recording deal with Sony Music Nashville in 2021 and released her debut EP, \u201cThe Half Record,\u201d which featured songs including \u201cLeave This Bar\u201d and \u201cGirls Call the Shots.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That same year, she was named one of CMT\u2019s\u00a0Next Women of Country\u00a0and made multiple appearances performing at the Grand Ole Opry.<\/p>\n<p>She has since said that Sony \u201cpulled the plug\u201d on her recording deal shortly after the EP\u2019s release, leaving her to continue her career independently.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Dasher performs during CMT\u2019s \u201cNight Out In Nashville\u201d presenting the Next Women of Country Classes of 2021-2022 at City Winery Nashville on Aug. 31, 2022 in Nashville, Tennessee.  <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images for CMT<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>While speaking on the \u201cLike a Farmer\u201d podcast, Dasher candidly reflected on her career setback.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think losing my record deal was a huge humbling that needed to occur in me and it was the last thing that I thought was ever going to happen,\u201d she said. \u201cBut the devil will steal your confidence when moments like that happen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd so I just had to remind myself that I didn\u2019t move to this town for anybody but me,\u201d she continued. \u201cAnd you know that I have people that love me and depended on me and I just knew that I needed to um to get out of that lull and to start writing songs again.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dasher explained that taking some time off from songwriting to pen her cookbook \u201cStand By Your Pan: 100 Easy and Affordable Comfort Food Recipes So Good They\u2019ll Hurt People\u2019s Feelin\u2019s,\u201d which was published in March was a \u201cgreat way to kind of get those wheels turning again.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Dasher arrives at GMA in brown pants, brown knit top and gold boots in New York City. <span class=\"credit\">Christopher Peterson \/ SplashNews.com<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cAnd so I\u2019ve kind of been out of the\u00a0songwriting thing\u00a0for a couple of years because of this, and now I\u2019m back into it and I caught the fever again, if you will,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m so excited to be working on new music and just to be growing this thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd this time it\u2019s just so much more free,\u201d Dasher continued. \u201cI don\u2019t have any rules over me that I feel like I\u2019m having to write for, or that I can\u2019t do this or I can\u2019t say this. I\u2019m just making this as authentically Hannah as it can be. Just real.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dasher also shared her thoughts on the\u00a0current state of country music, which has recently experienced a massive surge in popularity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think country is always trending,\u201d she said. \u201cI knew this \u201990s thing would come back around.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI fought with the label to try to get a pedal steel in my music because I just I love it and I just knew that that was the vibe,\u201d Dasher continued. \u201cAnd you know [legendary country music singer] Patsy Cline fought against the pop thing, which at the time was the symphony, which became the Nashville sound. You know, the strings and all that stuff and it\u2019s classic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd so I just think good stuff sticks around.
