Incidences of the disease are on the rise globally, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/journals.sagepub.com\/doi\/abs\/10.1177\/15353141251398051#bibr27-15353141251398051\" target=\"undefined\">2025 study<\/a>. <em>Salmonella <\/em>cases increased by almost 50% between 1990 and 2021, and deaths from <em>Salmonella<\/em> infection increased by almost 27% over the same period, the study said.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p data-testid=\"paragraph-element\" class=\"rich-text mb-6 font-graphik text-body-large text-black-coffee focus-visible:outline focus-visible:outline-black-coffee focus-visible:outline-2 focus-visible:outline-offset-2 focus-visible:shadow-focus-color text-left\">Most people infected with <em>Salmonella <\/em>suffer <a href=\"https:\/\/time.com\/article\/2026\/07\/15\/mistakes-that-make-diarrhea-worse\/\" target=\"undefined\">diarrhea<\/a>, fever, and stomach cramps, starting 6 hours to 6 days after ingesting the bacteria, the CDC says.
