Specifically, in wanting to secure their future in what can be a tumultuous and mutable industry.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight:400\">\u201cLet me tell you something,\u201d the 41-year-old said during <a href=\"https:\/\/www.twitch.tv\/tpain\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noopener noreferrer\">a Twitch livestream<\/a>, per <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/t-pain-sold-his-music-catalog-to-secure-his-kids-futures-12034753\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noopener noreferrer\"><em>People<\/em><\/a>. \u201cWhen streaming started, nobody told us, or nobody came to any artist and said, \u2018Hey, we\u2019re about to put your s&#8211;t on streaming platforms. How much do you want your music to cost?\u2019 Suddenly, out of nowhere and without anybody\u2019s consent, all of our music went from a dollar a song to 0.003 cents per play.
