The unit includes digital\u00a0reporters, editors and video producers and social media producers who contribute to the content and operation of\u00a0ABC\u2019s online entities.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The move comes as ABC continues to face scrutiny by the federal government, with the <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/04\/fcc-disney-jimmy-kimmel-1236874587\/\">FCC doing an early review of its broadcast licenses<\/a> amid investigations <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/04\/trump-kimmel-firing-abc-fcc-1236876953\/\">into Jimmy Kimmel<\/a> and <em><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/05\/fcc-the-view-equal-time-abc-1236919100\/\">The View<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/04\/fcc-abc-licenses-dei-not-kimmel-nbc-next-1236877015\/\">ABC License Renewals Probe All About DEI, Not Kimmel, FCC Chair Insists Amid Claims Of Political Vengeance; NBC Could Be Next For Review<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe industry is changing at a rapid pace, and we want to help shape the version of ABC News that will\u00a0emerge\u00a0from this transition,\u201d the bargaining unit said in a statement. \u201cWe are excited to join hundreds of our ABC News Broadcast colleagues and thousands of our fellow Disney employees who are represented by unions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Said WGAE president Tom Fontana: \u201cThe WGAE has represented unionized workers at ABC News since the 1960s.
