Out Oct. 9, the record draws extensively from the artist\u2019s New Orleans roots without relying too heavily on historical nostalgia. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cCreole Culture is my way of saying that New Orleans culture doesn\u2019t have to live in the past to be authentic,\u201d Richard shared in a statement. \u201cIt can be progressive. It can be global. It can be pop culture. New Orleans icon Big Freedia will open the record with \u201cA Creole Culture Intro,\u201d while Durand Bernarr will join on \u201cBaby, Can We?\u201d Richard also recruited vocalists Anjelika \u201cJelly\u201d Joseph, Tank and the Bangas\u2019 Tarriona \u201cTank\u201d Ball, and her farther, Frank Richard of the funk and soul group Chocolate Milk. Richard worked on the album alongside the musical collective Katalyst.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201c<em>New Breed <\/em>was the story of New Orleans through my father\u2019s eyes,\u201d Richard explains. \u201cI used his samples, his music, his cultures, his work with Chocolate Milk, his side of the family.<em>Second Line <\/em>was my mom \u2014 her interludes riddled the album with her depiction of what is meant to be a Creole woman in New Orleans.
