{"id":29037,"date":"2026-08-05T22:08:30","date_gmt":"2026-08-05T17:08:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/usnews-14267fa.ingress-comporellon.ewp.live\/?p=29037"},"modified":"2026-08-05T22:08:30","modified_gmt":"2026-08-05T17:08:30","slug":"woman-jailed-for-relentless-abuse-of-victim","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/usnews-14267fa.ingress-comporellon.ewp.live\/?p=29037","title":{"rendered":"Woman jailed for &#8216;relentless&#8217; abuse of victim"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script>\r\n  atOptions = {\r\n    'key' : '644b717812d811d6a1c1fc5b6ccd6fa6',\r\n    'format' : 'iframe',\r\n    'height' : 90,\r\n    'width' : 728,\r\n    'params' : {}\r\n  };\r\n<\/script>\r\n<script src=\"https:\/\/www.highperformanceformat.com\/644b717812d811d6a1c1fc5b6ccd6fa6\/invoke.js\"><\/script>\r\n<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div xmlns:default=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\" data-article-body=\"true\" data-body-type=\"bodyblocks\">\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">A woman who waged a &#8220;relentless&#8221; campaign of abuse against her girlfriend has been jailed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Kathryn White, 41, physically and emotionally abused her 40-year-old victim for 11 months, after the pair started a relationship in 2021.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The victim reported White&#8217;s crimes when she called 999 in July 2022, Cheshire Police said, but she died four days later.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">White, of Mayfield Mews in Crewe, Cheshire, was previously found guilty of engaging in coercive and controlling behaviour and was jailed for three years and six months.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The trial at Liverpool Crown Court, which lasted 19 days, heard White began isolating the victim from her family and friends at the start of the relationship.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">She moved into the victim&#8217;s home, forcing the latter&#8217;s son to leave, detectives said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">White controlled what she wore while shaming her over her appearance and telling the victim that her family did not care enough to visit, when she was in hospital.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"relative mb-4\">\n<div class=\"relative\"><img alt=\"A general view of the front of Liverpool Crown Court - a multi-storey brown building. in securing White&#8217;s conviction, the force added, after Friday&#8217;s hearing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Det Sgt Thomas Vass said White had subjected her former partner to a &#8220;relentless&#8221; campaign of physical, verbal and emotional abuse.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;Through her own insecurities, she isolated the woman she was supposed to care for from her loved ones, friends and even her own son, and had complete control of any sense of personal independence she possessed,&#8221;
