His ambiguous use of the word \u201cmiss\u201d in the lyrics creates the pathos with lines like \u201cJoey I wish you didn\u2019t make me miss so much\u201d and \u201cJoey I don\u2019t wanna let you miss so much,\u201d while he continues to center a character, like he did in the <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2026\/06\/this-is-lorelei-this-singer-in-my-band-lead-single\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">preceding single \u201cBilly Came Back,\u201d<\/a> to heighten the sentiment. Amos said in a statement, \u201c\u2018Oh No Now My\u2019 is a song that ate itself \u2014 there were three versions of it before it landed here, where it has nothing in common with the original. I think it\u2019s good but it\u2019s hard to sing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>The Singer in My Band<\/em>\u00a0comes out September 11th on Matador Records.
