Reality TV has been around since at least the 1970s, when PBS\u2019 An American Family made stars of Santa Barbara\u2019s Loud family. But it wasn\u2019t until <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/show\/real-housewives-of-orange-county\">The Real Housewives of Orange County<\/a> came along that some of those so-called ordinary people were launched into the stratosphere.<\/p>\n<p>From Beverly Hills to Dubai, these Bravo stars have flaunted their expensive homes, designer clothes, fancy cars, fabulous holidays and outrageous lifestyles. They claim to be friends, while they\u2019re incessantly screaming at each other.<\/p>\n<p>Very often we suspect these folks of purposely <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/2025\/06\/09\/gretchen-rossi-biggest-rhoc-controversies-explained\/\" id=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/2025\/06\/09\/gretchen-rossi-biggest-rhoc-controversies-explained\/\">stirring up drama<\/a> for the cameras or attempting to make themselves relevant. At the time, she was an aspiring actress, singer and model, marking time as a SUR hostess. But Lala had big dreams and bragged about trading \u201cBJs for PJs,\u201d as she worked her way into the life of a Hollywood producer, with whom she now shares a child.<\/p>\n<p>After her arrival at SUR, Lala wasted no time stirring things up and causing controversy. Though <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/tag\/jax-taylor\">Jax Taylor<\/a> denied anything ever happened between them, Lala told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/tag\/brittany-cartwright\">Brittany Cartwright<\/a> that she and Jax were flirtatious, and her boyfriend \u201ccheated\u201d on her. She also allegedly had a fling with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/tag\/james-kennedy\">James Kennedy<\/a> while he was dating <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/tag\/rachel-leviss\" id=\"www.realitytea.com\/tag\/lisa-vanderpump\">Rachel Leviss<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Admittedly, Lala had a big issue with alcohol back in those days, but now that she\u2019s been sober over five years, she\u2019s a much more balanced person. These days, Lala\u2019s a single mom of two young girls and has relocated to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/show\/the-valley\">The Valley<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-4-jax-taylor\">4. Fortunately for Stassi, she\u2019s since moved on from Jax, who cheated on her repeatedly. Married with two children, Stassi now stars in Hulu\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/tag\/house-of-stassi\">House of Stassi<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A notorious womanizer, Jax eventually married Brittany, and they had a son, Cruz. But after suffering years of verbal and sometimes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/2025\/04\/09\/the-valley-season-2-episode-1-preview-jax-taylor-brittany-cartwright-separation\/\" id=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/2025\/04\/09\/the-valley-season-2-episode-1-preview-jax-taylor-brittany-cartwright-separation\/\">inadvertent physical abuse<\/a>, she finally divorced him. He did, however, finally face up to his drug and alcohol addictions and is now reportedly sober.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, Jax achieved even more notoriety by dating his and Brittany\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/2026\/07\/17\/brittany-cartwright-suspicions-jax-taylor-lori-krebs-publicist\/\" id=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/2026\/07\/17\/brittany-cartwright-suspicions-jax-taylor-lori-krebs-publicist\/\">former publicist<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/tag\/lori-krebs\/\">Lori Krebs<\/a>. Though she was arguably entertaining, Kenya was also one of the most controversial cast members on the show.<\/p>\n<p>Despite gaining viewer sympathy with her backstory of her mother abandoning her, Kenya could be very abrasive with her co-workers. Despite being something of a fan favorite, the self-proclaimed \u201cGone with the Wind, fabulous\u201d beauty queen was unceremoniously axed from RHOA in 2024 after displaying a sexually explicit photo which she claimed was of rival castmate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/tag\/brit-eady\">Brit\u00a0Eady<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This took place in her hair salon, and led to a huge investigation. Kenya hasn\u2019t been seen on Bravo since. Bring her back!<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-2-teresa-giudice\">2. In Season 3 when her brother <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/tag\/joe-gorga\">Joe Gorga<\/a> invited her to his infant son\u2019s baptism, Teresa really started to go off the rails.<\/p>\n<p>Later, both she and then-husband <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/tag\/joe-giudice\">Joe Giudice<\/a> both went to jail for tax evasion, after which he was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/2025\/09\/29\/gia-giudice-traveled-mexico-dad-joe-boxing-match\/\" id=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/tag\/joe-giudice\/\">deported to Italy<\/a>, since he never became an America citizen.<\/p>\n<p>Following a years-long feud with her only sibling, Teresa and Joe finally reconciled and are currently filming RHONJ Season 15. In 2023, he got caught cheating on his girlfriend of a decade, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/tag\/ariana-madix\">Ariana Madix<\/a>, with one of their closest friends. Arguably, it might just be the best thing that ever happened to her, since not only did it free her from an unhealthy relationship, but Ariana went on to bigger and better things.<\/p>\n<p>The ensuing scandal, known as Scandoval, propelled Ariana into stardom. Not only did she get commercial offers, but she was cast in movie and TV roles, as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/show\/dancing-with-the-stars\">Dancing with the Stars<\/a>. These days Ariana is hosting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/show\/love-island-usa\">Love Island USA<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Scandoval fallout played a part in the shuttering of his and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/tag\/tom-schwartz\">Tom Schwartz\u2019s<\/a> bar Schwartz and Sandy\u2019s, as well as the failure of their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/tag\/lisa-vanderpump\">Lisa Vanderpump<\/a> partnership <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/2026\/05\/27\/tom-schwartz-reveals-why-tomtom-bar-for-sale\/\" id=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/2026\/05\/27\/tom-schwartz-reveals-why-tomtom-bar-for-sale\/\">Tom Tom<\/a>. Furthermore, Tom believes the whole kerfuffle prevented him from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/2024\/02\/14\/tom-sandoval-seemingly-believes-scandoval-kept-him-from-being-a-rock-star\/\" id=\"https:\/\/www.realitytea.com\/2024\/02\/14\/tom-sandoval-seemingly-believes-scandoval-kept-him-from-being-a-rock-star\/\">becoming a rock star<\/a>.
