Out October 2nd via UMe, the 5xCD collection features dozens of unreleased songs, including demos, live recordings, and outtakes.<\/p>\n<p>Touted as \u201ctelling the story of how Declan MacManus became Elvis Costello,\u201d the collection is spread across 104 tracks, featuring a new 2026 remaster from the original analog tapes. A total of 52 of the included demos, masters, outtakes, live performances, interviews, and other rarities are previously unreleased.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/vivid-seats.pxf.io\/c\/1882189\/952533\/12730?subId1=elvis-costello%2Amy-aim-is-true-reissue-button&amp;subId2=&amp;subId3=&amp;sharedid=&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.vividseats.com%2Felvis-costello-tickets%2Fperformer%2F273\" class=\"button button-ticket\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Find Elvis Costello Tickets<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Accompanied by a new 72-page essay with contributions from Nick Lowe, John McFee, Gregg Geller, Bill Flanagan, Warren Zanes, Rosanne Cash, Peter Wolf, and Jim James, the box set also includes new writing from Costello himself alongside rare and unseen photos, handwritten lyrics, and diary entries from 1976. <a href=\"https:\/\/elviscostello.lnk.to\/MyAimIsTrue49thAnniversaryEditionPR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Pre-orders<\/a> are ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>Related Video<\/p>\n<p>In anticipation,\u00a0Costello has shared four previously unreleased recordings tracing the origins of his early favorite \u201cWatching the Detectives.\u201d In addition to the \u201cPathway Studios Trio Version\u201d without the introductory \u201cSpy Guitar\u201d figure or keyboards in the mix, the preview includes\u00a0a solo electric performance from a 1977 episode of the UK show <em>Good\u00a0Afternoon<\/em>, a short excerpt from Costello\u2019s first TV interview, and a live recording of him playing the track with The Attractions at San Francisco\u2019s Winterland Ballroom in July 1978.<\/p>\n<p>Nearly five decades later, Costello is still actively touring alongside The Imposters with Charlie Sexton.
