While there are many <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/spider-man-brand-new-day-best-mcu-scenes\/\" target=\"_blank\">great <em>Spider-Man: Brand New Day<\/em> scenes<\/a> that are action-packed, the movie also shines through more personal moments. One of those scenes involved Holland\u2019s Spidey hanging out with Zendaya\u2019s MJ and Jacob Batalon\u2019s Ned, and new details have been revealed by the latter actor about how this portion of the movie was finalized.<\/p>\n<p>While speaking with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-features\/spider-man-brand-new-day-jacob-batalon-ending-handshake-1236664173\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a>, Batalon confirmed that this <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/spiderman-brand-new-day-peter-parker-mj-arc-justin-kuritzkes-writer-credit\/\" target=\"_blank\">hangout scene in <em>Spider-Man: Brand New Day<\/em> is the same one<\/a> that Holland previously talked about in June, which resulted in production being shut down for the day. Holland and Zendaya voiced their concerns about the scene, resulting in them sitting down with Batalon, director Destin Daniel Cretton, and screenwriter Justin Kuritzkes to reconfigure it. As Batalon recalled:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>We shot [a version of that scene] the day before, and it didn\u2019t really feel as organic and as real as we were used to. So that was a day where we all stopped filming, and then we sat down to put a bunch of ideas together for the scene. Then Destin and his writing partner [Justin Kuritzkes] were able to rewrite and fix that scene. They made it what it is in the movie.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p> Despite MJ\u2019s memories of Peter not resurfacing after she read the letter he\u2019d written to her, she nonetheless invited him in to \u201cmeet\u201d Ned in their apartment as Spider-Man. That led to this rewritten scene, where the masked Peter and Ned built a Star Wars LEGO set and quoted <em>Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring<\/em>, while MJ sketched the two of them having fun together. For Ned, this fulfilled his dream of meeting the superhero, and for Peter, it gave him another opportunity to hang out with his best friend.<\/p>\n<p>It was left ambiguous at the <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/spider-man-brand-new-day-ending-explained\/\" target=\"_blank\">end of <em>Spider-Man: Brand New Day<\/em><\/a> whether Ned\u2019s muscle memory of the handshake he and Peter used to do together meant that his own memories of Peter had fully returned. However, Cretton has said that this will be addressed in <em>Spider-Man 5<\/em>, should that move forward. Meanwhile, <em>Brand New Day<\/em>\u2019s post-credits scene depicted the Spidey Tracker showing that the Webbed Wonder is somewhere in outer space. Cretton has also said audiences <em>\u201cwill find out\u201d<\/em> what this tease means.<\/p>\n<p>For now, it\u2019s unclear when Holland will don his Spidey suit again, as he isn\u2019t listed in the official <em>Avengers: Doomsday<\/em> cast, and there\u2019s been no mention of him appearing in <em>Avengers: Secret Wars<\/em>. His latest MCU appearance, on the other hand, has quickly become a critical and commercial success. The positive reception includes <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/spider-man-brand-new-day-movie-review\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>ScreenRant<\/em>\u2019s review of <strong><em>Spider-Man: Brand New Day<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, which called it <em>\u201cTom Holland&#8217;s best outing yet as the web-slinging hero.\u201d<\/em> The movie has already crossed $1 billion worldwide.<\/p>\n<div
