Emmer, ultimately, did not attend. Also speaking was Democratic Minnesota Congressional hopeful <strong>Doug Chapin<\/strong>, who remarked that if elected, he plans to be &#8220;actually out in the community,&#8221; calling his promise &#8220;kind of apt today&#8221; \u2014 seemingly a dig at Emmer&#8217;s absence.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You have no idea what Congressman Emmer is dealing with right now. If you did, you would&#8217;ve never made that comment,&#8221; responded Stauber emphatically as soon as it was his turn to speak. &#8220;He&#8217;s fighting for his damn life today.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after Stauber&#8217;s assertion, Punchbowl News&#8217; <strong>Jake Sherman<\/strong> posted on X, &#8220;I just spoke to Emmer. He said he is not gravely ill &#8211; nor did he sound like it. Nobody wants to talk about 78-cent eggs, nobody wants to talk about milk that&#8217;s under two dollars. No, no.
