Here\u2019s how to turn them on in just a few clicks.<\/p>\n<h2>Google Chrome on Android<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>Open Chrome and visit <a href=\"http:\/\/Mashable.com\" target=\"_blank\" data-ga-click=\"1\" data-ga-label=\"$text\" data-ga-item=\"text-link\" data-ga-module=\"content_body\" title=\"(opens in a new window)\">Mashable.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Tap the three-dot menu to the right of the address bar.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Select <strong>Settings<\/strong>, followed by <strong>Site settings<\/strong> and <strong>Notifications<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Make sure notifications are enabled.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Return to Mashable. I signed up, but I\u2019m not receiving notifications<\/h2>\n<p>If you followed the steps above but Mashable alerts remain suspiciously absent, don\u2019t worry. A browser or device setting may be getting in the way.<\/p>\n<h3>1. Check your browser settings<\/h3>\n<p>Start by returning to <a href=\"http:\/\/Mashable.com\" target=\"_blank\" data-ga-click=\"1\" data-ga-label=\"$text\" data-ga-item=\"text-link\" data-ga-module=\"content_body\" title=\"(opens in a new window)\">Mashable.com<\/a> and clicking the site information icon beside the URL. Check your device settings<\/h3>\n<p>Your browser may have permission to send alerts while your computer is quietly blocking them.<\/p>\n<p>On a Mac, open <strong>System Settings &gt; Notifications<\/strong>. Select the browser you used to sign up, turn on <strong>Allow notifications<\/strong>, and choose <strong>Banners<\/strong> or <strong>Alerts<\/strong> as the notification style. On older versions of macOS, you may find these controls under <strong>System Preferences<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>On a Windows PC, open <strong>Settings &gt; System &gt; Notifications<\/strong>. Make sure notifications are turned on for Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or whichever browser you used.<\/p>\n<h3>3. Make sure notifications aren\u2019t silenced<\/h3>\n<p>Finally, check whether a focus setting has put your alerts on mute.<\/p>\n<p>On a Mac, open <strong>Control Center &gt; Focus<\/strong> and make sure <strong>Do Not Disturb<\/strong> is turned off.<\/p>\n<p>On Windows 11, go to <strong>Settings &gt; System &gt; Notifications<\/strong> and check that <strong>Do not disturb<\/strong> is disabled.
