money to spend on eating out.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t have a strategy problem, we simply didn\u2019t execute at the level we needed to in the second quarter,\u201d Kempczinski said on the earnings call.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">New US leader<\/h2>\n<p>In a push to revive growth in the US,\u00a0McDonald\u2019s\u00a0named insider Skye Anderson to lead the business, replacing Joe Erlinger and betting on an executive with extensive experience across operations and international markets.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>The appointment is a sign of management\u2019s dissatisfaction with recent performance and could result in faster execution of sales and profit growth initiatives, Citi analysts said.<\/p>\n<p>The company has begun restoring national digital offers, rolling out more targeted promotions for loyalty members and redirecting marketing spending to proven value platforms.<\/p>\n<p>McDonald\u2019s\u00a0shares, which have fallen nearly 13% this year,\u00a0were marginally higher\u00a0in early trading after the burger chain reported
