No one should yell at neurotypical teens, either.<\/p>\n<p>When it comes to being at peace with what he endured, he explained that therapy and closure as an adult have helped him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c \u2026 therapies helped that and actually being able to sit down with my mom and actually talk to her in a neutral zone and actually tell her about all the stuff that happened allowed me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This, Rowdy explained, allowed him \u201cto actually grow from it to actually be able to speak it out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He explained that he \u201cfaked\u201d confirming at MCRA with the mindset: \u201cThey can\u2019t change me being me, so I\u2019m just gonna have to make them think I [changed], so I just had to act.\u201d This is a common survival tactic for people in abusive situations.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"thg-ytf\" data-ytid=\"u2tVK6Zg3bQ\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi\/u2tVK6Zg3bQ\/hqdefault.jpg\" alt=\"Willie Robertson sent Son to Boarding School for Being Gay? When he was 10, his dad passed away.<\/p>\n<p>A couple of years later, he was adopted by the Robertsons.<\/p>\n<p>For those unfamiliar, Phil Robertson was so notoriously homophobic that he was suspended from his own show for multiple episodes.
