The cover appeared midway through Amos\u2019 set and marked her first known live performance of the song. Watch fan-shot footage of her tribute to Hansard below.<\/p>\n<p>Hansard co-wrote \u201cFalling Slowly\u201d with <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/artist\/marketa-irglova\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mark\u00e9ta Irglov\u00e1<\/a>, his collaborator in the Swell Season. After initially appearing on the duo\u2019s 2006 self-titled album, the ballad became the centerpiece of their film <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2026\/07\/once-oral-history\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Once<\/em><\/a> and earned the pair the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2008. Hansard <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2026\/07\/glen-hansard-dead-motocycle-crash\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">died in a motorcycle crash<\/a> in Dublin on July 29th.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/vivid-seats.pxf.io\/c\/1882189\/952533\/12730?subId1=tori-amos%2Ahonors-glen-hansard-button&amp;subId2=&amp;subId3=&amp;sharedid=&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.vividseats.com%2Ftori-amos-tickets%2Fperformer%2F876\" class=\"button button-ticket\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Find Tori Amos Tickets<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Amos joins a growing list of artists and public figures who have <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2026\/07\/glen-hansard-dead-tributes-reactions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">remembered Hansard<\/a> since his death.
