However, <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/tv\/news\/god-of-war-dave-bautista-kratos-amazon-series-ryan-hurst-1236826600\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><i>Variety<\/i> reports<\/a> that the project may get an upgrade in star power as a result, with <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/tag\/dave-bautista\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dave Bautista<\/a> (<i>Guardians of the Galaxy<\/i>, <i>Glass Onion<\/i>, <i>Blade Runner 2049<\/i>) in talks to take on the character.<\/p>\n<p>Bautista has developed quite the acting resume over the past ten years, but this would be his first series regular role \u2014 at least if you don\u2019t count his years as a professional wrestler in the WWE. He\u2019s a familiar face to Prime Video subscribers as well, having starred in movies like this year\u2019s <i>The Wrecking Crew<\/i> and the <i>My Spy<\/i> duology.<\/p>\n<p>The <i>God of War<\/i> series also stars Callum Vinson, Teresa Palmer, Max Parker, \u00d3lafur Darri \u00d3lafsson, Mandy Patinkin, and Ed Skrein. The show was created by Ronald D. Moore, whose past projects include the acclaimed <i>Battlestar Galactica<\/i>, <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/list\/best-space-tv-shows-of-all-time\/battlestar-galactica\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">one of the best sci-fi series of all time<\/a>.
