{"id":26722,"date":"2026-08-04T01:47:27","date_gmt":"2026-08-03T20:47:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/usnews-14267fa.ingress-comporellon.ewp.live\/?p=26722"},"modified":"2026-08-04T01:47:27","modified_gmt":"2026-08-03T20:47:27","slug":"dylan-dreyer-on-her-vacation-to-turks-and-caicos-with-in-laws-family-is-family","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/usnews-14267fa.ingress-comporellon.ewp.live\/?p=26722","title":{"rendered":"Dylan Dreyer on Her Vacation to Turks and Caicos with In-Laws: \u2018Family Is Family\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script>\r\n  atOptions = {\r\n    'key' : '644b717812d811d6a1c1fc5b6ccd6fa6',\r\n    'format' : 'iframe',\r\n    'height' : 90,\r\n    'width' : 728,\r\n    'params' : {}\r\n  };\r\n<\/script>\r\n<script src=\"https:\/\/www.highperformanceformat.com\/644b717812d811d6a1c1fc5b6ccd6fa6\/invoke.js\"><\/script>\r\n<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p id=\"anchor-590e1b\" class=\"body-graf\">Dylan Dreyer marked her 45th birthday in one of the places that has become synonymous with summer for her family: Turks and Caicos.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-e52645\" class=\"body-graf\">While guest co-hosting the 4th hour of TODAY alongside Sheinelle Jones, Dylan reflected on the annual vacation she has taken with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.today.com\/parents\/moms\/dylan-dreyer-separation-co-parenting-rcna242105\" target=\"_blank\">her former husband, Brian Fichera\u2019s<\/a>, family for more than a decade, explaining that although this year\u2019s trip looked different, one thing remained unchanged.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-3117b3\" class=\"body-graf\">\u201cFamily is family,\u201d Dylan said.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-aac33d\" class=\"body-graf\">The TODAY meteorologist said the trip, which has been a tradition over the past 13 or 14 years, had been booked well in advance.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-7280cf\" class=\"body-graf\">\u201cWe look forward to it every year, my kids especially since they get to spend a whole week with their cousins,\u201d Dylan told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.today.com\/parents\/family\/dylan-dreyer-shares-vacation-photos-rcna221675\" target=\"_blank\">TODAY.com in 2025<\/a>. \u201cBeach, pool, water park, dinners together\u2026it\u2019s the best.\u201d<\/p>\n<section id=\"anchor-cd6da6\" class=\"embed-widget embedWidget embed-widget--medium\" data-testid=\"embed-widget\"\/>\n<p id=\"anchor-7a366a\" class=\"body-graf\">Due to scheduling conflicts, Fichera did not join the vacation this year, and two of her nephews were also absent, but Dylan said she never considered canceling. Instead, she brought her and Fichera\u2019s three sons, Calvin, 9, Oliver, 6, and Rusty, 4.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-ae561e\" class=\"body-graf\">\u201cI still went. I took the boys,\u201d she said. \u201cTo me, yes, it was a family I married into, but it\u2019s a family I\u2019m very close with.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-7491b0\" class=\"body-graf\">Dylan spoke warmly about her former in-laws, saying she remains close with her sister-in-law, mother-in-law and father-in-law, while emphasizing the importance of preserving the relationships her three sons share with their cousins.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-faba27\" class=\"body-graf\">Sheinelle praised Dylan for maintaining the tradition, noting that children often benefit when adults preserve extended family relationships after major life changes.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-51321c\" class=\"body-graf\">Dylan said the getaway also offered an unexpected luxury: extra hands.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-9add1d\" class=\"body-graf\">With relatives eager to entertain the children, she found rare opportunities to relax while her father-in-law happily declared himself \u201cprimary,\u201d taking charge of supervising the kids around the pool and ocean.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-4a7e5f\" class=\"endmark body-graf\">\u201cI would just sit back and I\u2019m like, \u2018All right, I\u2019m just gonna soak this in,\u2019\u201d she said. \u201cI had a great time.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<script async=\"async\" data-cfasync=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/pl30214220.effectivecpmnetwork.com\/9ab3d4df8a7e1a6171e16ddbf732cc19\/invoke.js\"><\/script>\r\n<div id=\"container-9ab3d4df8a7e1a6171e16ddbf732cc19\"><\/div>\r\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dylan Dreyer marked her 45th birthday in one of the places that has become synonymous with summer for her family: Turks and Caicos.
