While Hollywood&#8217;s theatrically-focused studios have failed to fully support the genre in the last decade, <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/best-romantic-comedy-movies\/\" target=\"_blank\">Netflix&#8217;s romantic comedy movies<\/a> have filled the void well. Lana Condor got her breakout role through the <em>To All The Boys<\/em> franchise. <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/sofia-carson-netflix-movie-return-my-oxford-year\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sofia Carson has found multiple big hits<\/a> with <em>The Life List<\/em> and <em>My Oxford Year<\/em>. Victoria Justice, Miranda Cosgrove, Kat Graham, and others have also found success.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/netflix-original-movies-2026-ranked\/\" target=\"_blank\">Netflix&#8217;s original 2026 movies<\/a> have brought more rom-coms with notable stars. Emily Bader gained more recognition from <em>People We Meet On Vacation<\/em>. Jennifer Lopez even returned to the familiar genre to make <em>Office Romance<\/em>. But there is a different movie that has taken over the streaming service and turned its star into a rom-com queen.<\/p>\n<p>Over three weeks ago, <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/db\/movie\/voicemails-for-isabelle\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em><strong>Voicemails for Isabelle<\/strong><\/em><\/a> launched on Netflix with Zoey Deutch and Nick Robinson headlining the cast. It has become one of <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/netflix-movies-2026-most-watched\/\" target=\"_blank\">Netflix&#8217;s most-watched 2026 movies<\/a> after earning 61.8 million views during this time. Since July 2021, Netflix has shared weekly viewership data for its top 10 charts, and the 2026 release ranks as the seventh biggest rom-com over that span (not factoring in Christmas-themed movies).<\/p>\n<p>Since <em>Voicemails for Isabelle<\/em> has only been on Netflix for three weeks, comparing its viewership to longer runs from other titles isn&#8217;t totally fair. Four of five movies above it overall spent at least four weeks in the top 10, with <em>The Kissing Booth 3<\/em> the only exception. It ranks sixth for minutes watched through three weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Going beyond the pure views, <em>Voicemails for Isabelle<\/em> has the fifth most hours and minutes viewed during its first three weeks. Jill is an aspiring chef who starts leaving voicemails on her dead sister&#8217;s phone as a way to cope with the loss, which leads her to Robinson&#8217;s Wes, as his new work phone gets Isabelle&#8217;s old number.<\/p>\n<p>Deutch is excellent in <em>Voicemails for Isabelle<\/em>, delivering the comedic aspects of the performance with ease and still being able to nail the wide-ranging emotional aspects of the role. This shouldn&#8217;t be too surprising, though, as she&#8217;s a veteran of the genre. <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/zoey-deutch-best-films-rotten-tomatoes\/\" target=\"_blank\">Deutch&#8217;s movies<\/a> already include one of Netflix&#8217;s best rom-coms with 2018&#8217;s <em>Set It Up<\/em>, while her 2022 Prime Video original rom-com, <em>Something from Tiffany&#8217;s<\/em>, is also quite charming.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s clear from <em>Voicemails for Isabelle<\/em>&#8216;s viewership and general reception that audiences really enjoy Deutch in this genre. She&#8217;s proven to have great taste and be more than capable of tackling different types of lead rom-com characters. Hopefully, it won&#8217;t be another four years (or eight years on Netflix) for Deutch to return to the realm of romantic comedies. Netflix should be eager to get her back for another after <em><strong>Voicemails for Isabelle<\/strong><\/em>&#8216;s success, too.<\/p>\n<div class=\"display-card type-screen large\"
