I didn\u2019t have no idea this was going on,\u201d he continued. \u201cThey were all worried that they wouldn\u2019t see me again. It could all have gone so terribly wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Collins was first hospitalized in November 2023. He was discharged three days before Christmas, then just weeks later was checked back into the intensive care unit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was very lucky to have come out of that,\u201d he said. \u201cNeedless to say, I haven\u2019t had a drink since.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Collins\u2019 five children include eldest daughter Joely, 53, and eldest son Simon, 49, whom he shares with his first wife, Andrea Bertorelli. He and the actress were married for a decade before they split in 1994.<\/p>\n<p>He shares son Nicholas, 25,  as well as his youngest son, Matthew, 18, with his third wife, Orianne Cevey. Their divorce was finalized in 2008 after nine years of marriage.<\/p>\n<p>The legendary drummer told the Sunday Times he\u2019s open to a fourth wife.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d love to be in love again,\u201d he admitted. \u201cI would love a relationship. Kissing somebody, for example. You know, pretty basic stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>His youngest son is Matthew, whom he shares with his third wife, Orianne Cevey. I don\u2019t, you know, I don\u2019t go out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cIn the Air Tonight\u201d singer <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/03\/27\/phil-collins-bids-emotional-farewell-to-fans-at-final-concert\/#!\">retired from touring<\/a> in March 2022 after losing his drumming abilities. Collins has suffered from numerous health issues over the years, including dislocating vertebrae in his neck in 2007 that left nerve damage to his hands. He has used a cane since 2015, when he had back surgery.<\/p>\n<p>Back in May, Collins said he was <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/05\/26\/entertainment\/phil-collins-hints-he-hasnt-closed-the-door-on-new-music-touring-despite-health-woes\/\">still toying with the idea of making new music<\/a> and even possibly touring again despite<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2025\/02\/21\/entertainment\/phil-collins-74-is-very-sick-years-after-losing-drumming-ability\/\"> his health woes over the years<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m healthier now than I have been for quite a while.
