It&#8217;s got everything you&#8217;d want from an <em>Animal Crossing<\/em>-like, from an endless amount of decorative items, fishing, randomized spaces to forage fruit, and a space to hang out with friends after a long day, in addition to its space theme, quirky creatures, and farming.<\/p>\n<section class=\"emaki-custom-block emaki-custom-note\" data-nosnippet=\"\">\n<div class=\"emaki-custom note\" id=\"custom_block_5\">\n<div class=\"custom_block-content note\">\n<p><em>Galactic Getaway<\/em> is currently only available on <a href=\"https:\/\/store.steampowered.com\/app\/2012390\/Galactic_Getaway_Build_a_Home_for_Pets\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Steam<\/a>. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<p>Ostensibly, like <em>Ooblets <\/em>before it and <em>Pokopia <\/em>after it, <em>Galactic Getaway<\/em> is <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/animal-crossing-replacement-pokemon-pokopia\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Animal Crossing<\/em> meets <em>Pok\u00e9mon<\/em><\/a>, only it veers far more into the <em>AC <\/em>territory than many other games of its ilk. If you&#8217;ve longed for a game that feels like<em> Animal Crossing<\/em> as you play, <em>Galactic Getaway<\/em> is the perfect choice. Often described as <em>Animal Crossing<\/em> in Australia, Dinkum takes a lot of the best elements of <em>AC&#8217;s <\/em>gameplay loop and plants it squarely in the Australian outback. You&#8217;ll need to build your town from scratch, decorating it as you&#8217;d please, much like in <em>New Horizons<\/em>, gather crafting materials, and welcome in new villagers. There are also a few survival elements thrown in for good measure to help keep things interesting and keep you on your toes.<\/p>\n<p><em>Dinkum <\/em>is widely regarded as one of the best <em>Animal Crossing<\/em> clones as it more directly apes its focus on town building and social sim elements. Its social features aren&#8217;t quite as deep as the early days of <em>Animal Crossing<\/em>, although they are about on par with <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/animal-crossing-new-horizons-communication-developer-interview-op-ed\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>New Horizon&#8217;s<\/em> less robust social sim elements<\/a>, as the focus is really on building your town and surviving in the outback. Eventually, it was transformed into a premium product, not unlike <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/animal-crossing-pocket-camp-worth-it-op-ed\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Animal Crossing&#8217;s <\/em>own mobile game<\/a>, and ported to consoles and <a href=\"https:\/\/store.steampowered.com\/app\/304950\/Castaway_Paradise__live_among_the_animals\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Steam<\/a>. With the microtransactions gone, <em>Castaway Paradise&#8217;s<\/em> social sim gameplay was able to shine, and it remains one of the more faithful adaptations of the <em>Animal Crossing <\/em>formula.<\/p>\n<p>In <em>Castaway Paradise<\/em>, you explore an island helping villagers with a variety of simple tasks, fish, catch bugs, collect and place decorations, and everything else you&#8217;d expect from an <em>Animal Crossing<\/em>-like experience. Sure, there&#8217;s some obvious budget limitations here, and it can begin to feel a bit repetitive faster than<em> Animal Crossing<\/em> typically does. It&#8217;s a slow-paced, relaxing title that adopts <em>Animal Crossing&#8217;s <\/em>in-game clock and calendar functionality, which, naturally, encourages frequent but shorter play sessions. The bite sized approach to the game&#8217;s pacing and tasks mean that, much like <em>AC<\/em>, it can fit around your busy schedule, rather than requiring the player to complete everything in a matter of days.<\/p>\n<p>Where it differs from <em>Cozy Grove<\/em><em> <\/em>is in its lack of handholding. <em>The Garden Path<\/em> sets you out into its vast world and lets you figure everything out for yourself. It leads to a wonderful sense of discovery as you come across your first NPCs, complete your first task, or discover a new area for the first time. It packs absolutely everything you&#8217;d want from an <em>Animal Crossing<\/em>-esque game on PC (via <a href=\"https:\/\/store.steampowered.com\/app\/1125510\/Snacko\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Steam<\/a>), including town building, villager interactions, fishing, and quests, while also adding cooking, romance options, a vast world to explore with unique biomes, PS1-style visuals, a completely flexible build mode, and so much more. <\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t quite understand why <em>Snacko <\/em>doesn&#8217;t get the praise and attention it deserves as it quite literally fits every category<em> Animal Crossing<\/em> fans would want while introducing amazing features that only better the experience.
