He was 48 years old.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, Kimberly honored their anniversary by posting selfies of them together <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DbhWB4DG91j\/?igsh=MXB2Y281NXB5d21qOQ%3D%3D&amp;img_index=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">on Instagram<\/a> as well as a pic of him in a group hug with<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/parents\/meet-james-van-der-beeks-6-kids-with-wife-kimberly\/\"> their six children.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201c16 years ago I was the luckiest woman in the world to marry @vanderjames,\u201d she wrote. \u201cThe beauty of this marriage continues to unfold everyday with all these incredible children we have.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>James Van Der Beek\u2019s widow, Kimberly, shared a tribute to him on Instagram Sunday on what would have been their 16th wedding anniversary. <span class=\"credit\">Instagram\/vanderkimberly<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Kimberly posted throwback pics of the two, calling herself \u201cthe luckiest woman in the world\u201d to have married the actor. <span class=\"credit\">Instagram\/vanderkimberly<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>\u201cHe continues to be present and guide us,\u201d she added. \u201cI\u2019m eternally grateful. \ud83d\ude4f\ud83c\udf39\ud83d\ude0d\ud83e\udd70.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Van Der Beek married Kimberly \u2014 his second wife after his split from <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/02\/12\/celebrity-news\/james-van-der-beeks-ex-wife-heather-mccomb-pens-heartbreaking-tribute\/\">his first wife, Heather McComb<\/a> \u2014 on Aug. 1, 2010. They shared kids Olivia, 15, Joshua, 14, Annabel, 12, Emilia, 10, Gwendolyn, 8, and Jeremiah, 4.<\/p>\n<p>Kimberly, 44,  has continued to honor her late husband since his death. Last month, she shared throwback pics with him <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DaFAojAAKZG\/?img_index=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">on Instagram<\/a>, captioning her post, \u201cBaby, love does not die. Death does not part.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She also shared intimate pics of him being a dad to their children <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/06\/22\/parents\/james-van-der-beeks-wife-pays-tribute-to-late-actor-on-first-fathers-day-since-his-passing\/\">on the first Father\u2019s Day since his death<\/a>, writing, \u201cMissing you so much and thinking of how magnificent you were in every single way today. And somehow, from the other side? You continue to parent. The comforts of shock have worn off. The reality is settling in \u2026 and I miss him.
