Tour.\u201d According to Byrne, the entire band travels with folding bicycles, allowing them to get out and explore whenever the schedule permits.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/vivid-seats.pxf.io\/c\/1882189\/952533\/12730?subId1=david-byrne%2Abiking-playlist-button&amp;subId2=&amp;subId3=&amp;sharedid=&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.vividseats.com%2Fdavid-byrne-tickets%2Fperformer%2F1865\" class=\"button button-ticket\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Get David Byrne Tickets Here<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe whole band has folding bikes that we travel with \u2013 if I have an afternoon off I\u2019ll often go for a ride to clear my head,\u201d Byrne explained. \u201cAnd if I\u2019m on my own and it\u2019s a secure path or not a busy road\u2026 I\u2019ll listen to this playlist.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a note accompanying the playlist, Byrne also reflected on his naturally expansive understanding of pop music, arguing that the distinction between mainstream and unconventional music is constantly shifting. The playlist backs up that wide-ranging description, bringing together Mitski, Allison Russell, Audrey Hobert, Dry Cleaning, Olivia Rodrigo, WILLOW, James Blake, Yebba, Kelsey Lu, St. Vincent, Harry Styles, Paul McCartney, Phoebe Bridgers, Ibeyi, and more.<\/p>\n<p>Related Video<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat I think of as pop music is broadly defined,\u201d he wrote. \u201cSome songs are, by consensus, mainstream, but even some of those often push at the edges. Others take the format, length and shape of pop songs, but to my ears they don\u2019t sound anything like the ones considered more mainstream.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat said, they\u2019re all equal in my book,\u201d he continued. \u201cI don\u2019t think of any of them as inside or outside \u2013 as I\u2019ve seen those definitions change with plenty of exceptions that prove the rules are meant to be broken.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The playlist arrives as Byrne enters the final stretch of the <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2026\/04\/david-byrne-summer-2026-tour-dates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cWho Is the Sky? Tour,\u201d<\/a> which began in September 2025 and will have kept him on the road for just over a year by the time it concludes. \u201cIt\u2019s a long one, but it\u2019s going extremely well and the general vibe among the band and crew is, amazingly, still good,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>The remaining itinerary takes Byrne through Singapore, Jakarta, Tokyo, Seoul, and several North American cities, including Berkeley, Los Angeles, Mexico City, and Saratoga Springs. The tour concludes with a September 19th performance at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens.
