The movie, which opened mid-week in some overseas territories (including China, where it began playing on Wednesday), has managed to draw close to the billion-dollar global milestone long before the end of its first full week in theaters.<\/p>\n<p>This total means that, in spite of being in theaters for such a short time, by Sunday, it will have already outgrossed the worldwide hauls of the majority of 2026 releases. These projections see it debuting directly in the Top 5, landing at <strong>No. 5<\/strong> (behind <em>The Odyssey<\/em>, <em>The Super Mario Galaxy Movie<\/em>, <em>Michael<\/em>, and <em>Toy Story 5<\/em>) with a haul that surpasses the all-time grosses of hit titles including <em>The Devil Wears Prada 2 <\/em>($690.9 million), <em>Project Hail Mary <\/em>($684.2 million), <em>Obsession <\/em>($460.7 million), and <em>Backrooms <\/em>($390 million).<\/p>\n<p>This enormous total also sees 2026&#8217;s <em>Spider-Man: Brand New Day<\/em> earning the second-biggest global debut of all time, behind only its MCU predecessor <em>Avengers: Endgame <\/em>($1.224 billion).
