In the original, the two \u2014 raised by their witch aunts Aunt\u00a0Jet (Dianne Wiest) and Aunt\u00a0Franny (Stockard Channing) \u2014 embrace witchcraft after avoiding it most of their lives. The sisters work to learn how to use their powers to ward off a curse that threatens women in the family from finding love, and leaves men they fall in love with dead.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x\"\/>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tIn <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/practical-magic-2\/\" id=\"auto-tag_practical-magic-2_1\" data-tag=\"practical-magic-2\">Practical Magic 2<\/a><\/em>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/sandra-bullock-and-nicole-kidman-pass-down-powers-to-next-generation-in-first-look-at-practical-magic-2-1236564065\/\">set 25 years later,<\/a> Bullock\u2019s character now has two daughters \u2014 played by King and Williams \u2014 who have their own witchy abilities. King\u2019s character discovers dark family secrets that plunge the Owens family into a crisis, and the women must confront the dark curse that threatens to unravel them once and for all. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tWiest and Channing have also returned for the follow-up, alongside other new additions Lee Pace, Xolo Maridue\u00f1a and Solly McLeod.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t<em>The Perfect Couple<\/em>\u2018s Susanne Bier directed the film, which hits theaters Sept. 11.
