Sources tell Deadline that <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/samara-weaving\/\" id=\"auto-tag_samara-weaving\" data-tag=\"samara-weaving\">Samara Weaving<\/a> is the choice to play Emma Frost in the upcoming <em>X-Men <\/em>movie. After meeting with a number of candidates, director Jake Schreier and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige landed on Weaving earlier this week to tackle the role.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tMarvel had no comment on the casting.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tWhile <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/06\/james-bond-auditions-august-next-round-the-dish-1236964582\/\">James Bond has had everyone\u2019s attention<\/a> this summer, the most active casting process has been who will play the new team of Mutants. At the end of the day, Weaving\u2019s audition was too hard to beat.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tFrost is a telepathic Mutant who first showed up in <em>X-Men <\/em>comics in the 1980s and has evolved over the years, going from supervillain to a key member of the X-Men. On the film side, she most recently was played by January Jones in 2011\u2019s <em>X-Men: First Class.<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThis latest development is sure to excite fans of the franchise who have been begging for a new<em>\u00a0<\/em>X-Men movie since Disney\u2019s acquisition of 20th Century Fox and its library in 2019. In March,\u00a0she\u00a0led <em><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/ready-or-not-2-here-i-come\/\" id=\"auto-tag_ready-or-not-2-here-i-come\" data-tag=\"ready-or-not-2-here-i-come\">Ready or Not 2: Here I Come<\/a><\/em>, the sequel to the 2019 hit horror-comedy <em>Ready or Not<\/em>, which saw her step back into the role of fierce protagonist Grace MacCaullay.
