{"id":24869,"date":"2026-08-02T05:41:35","date_gmt":"2026-08-02T00:41:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/usnews-14267fa.ingress-comporellon.ewp.live\/?p=24869"},"modified":"2026-08-02T05:41:35","modified_gmt":"2026-08-02T00:41:35","slug":"truth-social-launches-service-selling-faster-access-to-trump-posts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/usnews-14267fa.ingress-comporellon.ewp.live\/?p=24869","title":{"rendered":"Truth Social launches service selling faster access to Trump posts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script>\r\n  atOptions = {\r\n    'key' : '644b717812d811d6a1c1fc5b6ccd6fa6',\r\n    'format' : 'iframe',\r\n    'height' : 90,\r\n    'width' : 728,\r\n    'params' : {}\r\n  };\r\n<\/script>\r\n<script src=\"https:\/\/www.highperformanceformat.com\/644b717812d811d6a1c1fc5b6ccd6fa6\/invoke.js\"><\/script>\r\n<br \/>\n<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media-cldnry.s-nbcnews.com\/image\/upload\/t_fit_1500w\/rockcms\/2026-08\/260801-truth-social-cc-0647p-8a8f8c.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p id=\"anchor-d8f8ac\" class=\"body-graf\">Wall Street firms can now be alerted of the \u201cmost market-moving\u201d social media posts from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/donald-trump\" target=\"_blank\">President Donald Trump <\/a>before the general public \u2014 as long as they pay the right price.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-164412\" class=\"body-graf\">The service went live Saturday: a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/business\/media\/trump-media-early-access-truth-social-posts-rcna587912\" target=\"_blank\">subscription to his social media platform<\/a>, Truth Social, that allows financial firms and other organizations to get alerts for new posts made by Trump and other top accounts before general users do.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-f8f687\" class=\"body-graf\">Trump Media and Technology Group, which owns the platform, launched the new high-speed data feed called \u201cTruth API,\u201d describing it as giving firms \u201ca direct, licensed, real-time feed of the platform\u2019s most market-moving Truths.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-107861\" class=\"body-graf\">Trump, who has the largest following on the platform by far with 13 million followers, has used Truth Social as his go-to platform to release official statements throughout his second term, including to announce that he was imposing sweeping new tariffs or to declare major military operations.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-d972f4\" class=\"body-graf\">Trump\u2019s unprecedented use of social media to reveal updates on global affairs and economic policy has contrasted sharply with prior presidents, who generally made such announcements through more formal avenues, such as through the White House press office and the official White House website.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-647795\" class=\"body-graf\">Many trading firms already plug into Trump\u2019s posts through Bloomberg, Reuters or other services that scrape his posts and relay them in real time to their customers. But using this data feed on Truth Social could enable firms to access his posts seconds or even milliseconds faster than the general public.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-6d369d\" class=\"body-graf\">For a high-frequency trading firm, even milliseconds could make a huge difference.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-bf252d\" class=\"body-graf\">The president also stands to profit from the new service. Trump is a major stakeholder in TMTG, owning 114.75 million shares to represent 41% of the company, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/President-Donald-J.-Trump.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">his 2025 financial disclosure.<\/a><\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-8cada0\" class=\"body-graf\">Sens. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and Adam Schiff, D-Calif., have urged the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to investigate whether Trump Media is violating the law by selling faster access to the president\u2019s posts.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-09ae99\" class=\"body-graf\">The senators wrote that the subscription \u201cappears to be an outrageous abuse of the President\u2019s office for his personal benefit that undermines everyday investors and the integrity of our markets, while enriching Wall Street and other wealthy insiders.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-9ffc36\" class=\"body-graf\">In its announcement of the new service last month, TMTG emphasized Truth Social\u2019s impact on the market.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-c2559d\" class=\"body-graf\">\u201cMarkets already move on Truth Social posts,\u201d Kevin McGurn, interim chief executive officer of TMTG, said in a press release. \u201cTruth API delivers a direct, licensed, real-time feed of the platform\u2019s most market-moving Truths while advancing our strategy to monetize proprietary assets through a high-margin, recurring revenue stream.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-19d62f\" class=\"body-graf\">Trump launched Truth Social in early 2022 after he had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/business\/business-news\/twitter-uphold-permanent-ban-against-trump-even-if-he-were-n1257269\" target=\"_blank\">been banned from X,<\/a> formerly known as Twitter, and other social media platforms in 2021 following the attacks on the Capitol on Jan. 6.<\/p>\n<p id=\"anchor-f9cb1c\" class=\"endmark body-graf\">Elon Musk reinstated Trump\u2019s access to X in November 2022 shortly after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/business\/business-news\/twitter-elon-musk-timeline-what-happened-so-far-rcna57532\" target=\"_blank\">he took over the platform<\/a> as CEO.
