Spanning 15 tracks, <em>Love &amp; Other Mysteries<\/em> is due out August 21st via Loaded Goat Records\/UMG.<\/p>\n<p>Paisley not only served as the album\u2019s producer, but he teamed with Dawes\u2019 Taylor Goldsmith and gospel singer\/pianist Gordon Mote to handle musical arrangements. And it makes sense why Shatner would trust Paisley with his latest creative endeavor: the pair have been friends for 20-plus years, and collaborated before on everything from music video cameos (including Paisley\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=B9mpDAJOPac\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">\u201cCelebrity\u201d<\/a>) and Shatner\u2019s solo Broadway show, <em>Shatner\u2019s World: We Just Live In It<\/em>. Paisley also appeared on Shatner\u2019s 2021 spoken word album, <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2021\/08\/william-shatner-joe-jonas-brad-paisley-stream\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>BILL<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The pair recently spoke about their friendship and the making of the LP in an extended chat with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/entertainment\/music\/2026\/07\/31\/william-shatner-brad-paisley-love-other-mysteries\/91098930007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><em>USA Today<\/em><\/a>. Discussing his potent creative and personal connection with Paisley, Shatner had this to say:<\/p>\n<p>Related Video<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis album has my heart, and it also reflects my deep friendship with my writing partner. We\u2019re both very proud of this work, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it. Brad has been a source of inspiration for me for a long time. I believe this album reflects the love and soul of everybody who contributed to this beautiful music.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Our first taste of <em>Love &amp; Other Mysteries<\/em> comes with the quasi-title track, \u201cThe Great Mystery.\u201d The song captures the very essence of the record: with Shatner\u2019s \u201cunmistakable voice [wrapped] in beautifully crafted musical arrangements,\u201d what we get is an \u201cintimate backdrop for reflective, heartfelt, and deeply human stories.\u201d At 95-years-old, few people can move you with a yarn like William Freakin\u2019 Shatner. Among the tracks announced for the collection are covers of Judas Priest classics <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2026\/03\/william-shatner-rob-halford-judas-priest-classic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cYou\u2019ve Got Another Thing Comin&#8217;\u201d<\/a> (featuring Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford) and <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2026\/06\/william-shatner-metal-project-live-stage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cLiving After Midnight\u201d<\/a> (featuring drummer Mikkey Dee of Mot\u00f6rhead and Scorpions).<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of \u201cMetal Shatner,\u201d he\u2019s set to <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2026\/07\/william-shatner-to-play-riot-fest\/\" target=\"_blank\">play Riot Fest<\/a> on Sunday, September 20th, with his metal backing band The *uckers. (And in true rock star fashion, he\u2019s got one <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2026\/07\/william-shatner-riot-fest-rider\/\" target=\"_blank\">extra ridiculous rider<\/a> to boot.)<\/p>\n<p>Shatner\u2019s jam-packed schedule comes as he recently recalled a <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2026\/07\/william-shatner-cancer-battle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shared cancer diagnosis<\/a> with his daughter, Melanie Shatner Gretsch. Speaking with <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/william-shatner-daughter-melanie-fought-stage-4-cancer-together-exclusive-12023877\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><em>People<\/em><\/a> in late July, Shatner said he was diagnosed with stage 4 malignant melanoma in June 2023 at the same time that Shatner Gretsch was undergoing chemotherapy for stage 4 breast cancer. (Both have been cancer free since late 2024.)
