If Ice Universe&#8217;s numbers are accurate, the iPhone 18 Pro Max would be 0.25mm thicker and 7 grams heavier; a small difference, but still noticeable, especially on a device that&#8217;s already pretty large and heavy. <\/p>\n<p>MacRumors pointed out that, for the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro Max, Apple has reportedly adopted a new type of vapor chamber that uses <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2025\/09\/17\/iphone-18-pro-design-rumors\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-ga-click=\"1\" data-ga-label=\"$text\" data-ga-item=\"text-link\" data-ga-module=\"content_body\" title=\"(opens in a new window)\">stainless steel<\/a>, which could also make the phone heavier. <\/p>\n<p>Notably, Apple&#8217;s largest phone has shed some weight over the years, with the iPhone 14 Pro Max still holding the title of being the heaviest iPhone ever. Its battery will reportedly <a href=\"https:\/\/mashable.com\/tech\/iphone-18-pro-battery-size\" target=\"_blank\" data-ga-click=\"1\" data-ga-label=\"$text\" data-ga-item=\"text-link\" data-ga-module=\"content_body\">only be a little larger than before<\/a>, so perhaps there won&#8217;t be a significant change in thickness and weight, either. <\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s also worth noting that Apple is rumored to be launching the <a href=\"https:\/\/mashable.com\/tech\/iphone-fold-ultra-specifications-rumors-leaks\" target=\"_blank\" data-ga-click=\"1\" data-ga-label=\"$text\" data-ga-item=\"text-link\" data-ga-module=\"content_body\">iPhone Ultra<\/a>, alongside the Pro models, in September.
