While Nintendo showed off the new setting in the <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/pokemon-gen-10-winds-waves-officially-announced-release-window\/\" target=\"_blank\">reveal trailer for the Generation 10 games<\/a>, it&#8217;s been more reticent on displaying actual gameplay mechanics.<\/p>\n<p>    <!-- No AdsNinja v10 Client! --><!-- No AdsNinja v10 Client! --><\/p>\n<p>One of the biggest questions about <em>Winds and Waves <\/em>is how much inspiration they&#8217;ll take from the <em>Legends <\/em>games, which introduced plenty of new features unfamiliar to the mainline games in the franchise. The video shows a player character throwing a Pok\u00e9ball without being engaged in a battle menu, seemingly confirming that this option from the <em>Legends <\/em>games will be returning.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s ultimately no guarantee that <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/pokemon-legends-3-era-setting-leaks-reactions\/\" target=\"_blank\">anything from the teraleak<\/a> will be in the final version of <em>Pok\u00e9mon Winds and Waves<\/em>, but it seems unlikely that Nintendo would include a fan-favorite feature like this only to cut it later in development. Assuming the system remains, it&#8217;s also unclear whether its full scope and functionality will follow in the vein of <em>Arceus <\/em>or <em>Z-A<\/em>, which take different approaches to throwing Pok\u00e9balls.<\/p>\n<p>Regardless, being able to catch Pok\u00e9mon without battling helps to deliver on the inherent promise of the <em>Pok\u00e9mon <\/em>concept, fostering a sense of discovery that isn&#8217;t as reliant on entering combat at every turn. Hopefully, the inclusion of throwing Pok\u00e9balls outside of battle will just be the tip of the iceberg for the features and polish that the Gen 10 games ultimately deliver.
