Any support you can provide would be greatly appreciated, as would any advice,\u201d the 19-year-old whined.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>\u201cI have reiterated that my parents do not share my views, and it seems they no longer wish to provide me with a home to live in. I know the road ahead will be difficult, but this is the path I chose.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Franco painted himself as a martyr.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Cornell confirmed on Thursday that Franco will be returning to campus.  <span class=\"credit\">Bloomberg via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI do not regret anything I have done. If I were to die today, I would at least know that I did so believing in myself. Thank you, and may God be with you.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He is a person of privilege. The 6,300-square-foot Franco family home, located in a suburb 30 miles northwest of DC, has five bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms.<\/p>\n<p>Mom\u2019s Diana\u2019s Instagram, which has been made private, proudly shows off her son, including a snap of him in Paris for his 18th birthday in 2024. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The Francos live in a gorgeous five-bedroom in Virginia.  <span class=\"credit\">Luiz C. Ribeiro for NY Post<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Dad Alexander is a Cornell alum and patent lawyer, and Diana is a senior product manager for a banking regulators\u2019 trade association. <\/p>\n<p>They told The Post that they found their son\u2019s behavior reprehensible \u2014 and believe he\u2019s fallen victim to <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/05\/23\/us-news\/san-diego-mosque-shooter-was-obsessed-with-racist-dutch-cartoon-character-online-pals\/\">dark online influences<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have seen our adult son fall under the influence of extremist online content. It should go without saying that the rest of our family finds the views he has expressed morally repugnant, and he did not derive them in any way from us,\u201d they wrote.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Alexander Franco, Austin\u2019s dad, is a lawyer. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWe love our son very much and are doing everything we can to counter the online influences that have afflicted him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Franco, who spoke with The Post on Thursday, rejected his parents\u2019 explanation \u2014 insisting his views came from real-life experience, not the internet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t peer inside their minds and they can\u2019t peer inside mine, but it\u2019s not a result of just being online. I\u2019ve had in-person experiences as well,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Diana Franco, Austin\u2019s mom, is a senior product manager. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cAll the internet is, is essentially an extension of prior means of communication, what used to be the printing press.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s like if my parents \u2026 were like, \u2018Oh boy, he\u2019s always reading the newspaper, he\u2019s getting all these terrible ideas from the newspaper.\u2019 When you say that, it sounds completely ridiculous, right?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When asked how he felt about his eviction, he replied: \u201cI\u2019m not sure if I have a good answer for that.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He said he\u2019ll be moving to an apartment near Cornell in upstate Ithaca.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Franco expressed having no regrets while speaking with The Post.  <span class=\"credit\">dianafranco2962\/Instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Since delivering the antisemitic <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/06\/13\/us-news\/antisemitic-cornell-student-turns-down-interview-because-hes-not-interested-in-working-for-a-jew\/\">message to VryfID\u2019s Jewish co-founders<\/a> Gabe and Aiden Einhorn via job board site Handshake in June, Franco has fully embraced a hate-filled public identity.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnti-semitism has not only become mainstream, it\u2019s become something to be proud of for some,\u201d said Dr. Carole Lieberman, a psychiatrist who wrote two books on terrorism. \u201cPeople like Austin Franco see themselves as martyrs for the cause.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Franco maintained that he\u2019s been acting within his freedoms \u2014 with no regrets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople may say things that are unkind, but they have the right to say it,\u201d he said. \u201cIt would be illegal for an employer to say, \u2018I\u2019m not going to hire you because you are white.\u2019 It would not be illegal for an employee to say, \u2018I\u2019m not going to work for you because you\u2019re white.\u2019\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"embed-wrapper twitter\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Piers Morgan speaks to the Ivy League student who went viral for saying \u2018he\u2019s not interested in working for Jews\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;You&#8217;ve doubled down \u2013 you&#8217;re proud of it!
