If confirmed, it would mark the end of a near-30-year run, as the turntablist joined the masked metal act in 1998.<\/p>\n<p>TMZ cited a source close to the band who said Wilson was notified on Friday afternoon (July 31st) that he was being permanently let go from Slipknot.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/store.consequence.net\/collections\/vinyl-records\/?sort_by=title-ascending&amp;filter.p.tag=Slipknot\" class=\"button button-ticket\" target=\"_blank\">Get Slipknot Albums on Vinyl<\/a><\/p>\n<p>However, following TMZ\u201ds report, Slipknot guitarist Jim Root took to his Instagram Stories to write, \u201cDon\u2019t believe every thing you read. Stop. Think. Take a breath. Sit with it for awhile. Maybe. Just maybe even wait until there\u2019s more information.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Related Video<\/p>\n<p>If Wilson is indeed no longer with Slipknot, he would be the latest classic member to be ousted from the band. Slipknot parted ways with percussionist Chris Fehn in 2019 and sampler-keyboardist Craig Jones in 2023, respectively. Prior to that, they let go of founding drummer Joey Jordison in 2013 (he later passed away in 2021). And tragically, founding bassist Paul Gray died in 2010 while he was still an active member of the band.<\/p>\n<p>That would mean Slipknot are only left with four members of their classic nine-man lineup, including singer Corey Taylor, percussionist Shawn \u201cClown\u201d Crahan, and guitarists Root and Mick Thomson. Recent members include drummer Eloy Casagrande, percussionist-keyboardist Michael \u201cTortilla Man\u201d Pfaff, bassist Alessandro \u201cVman\u201d Venturella, and since 2023 an unidentified sampler.<\/p>\n<p>Wilson has experienced a whirlwind few years. In 2022, he <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2023\/01\/kelly-osbourne-slipknot-sid-wilson-baby-boy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">welcomed a baby boy<\/a> with Kelly Osbourne, and then <a href=\"https:\/\/consequence.net\/2025\/07\/slipknot-sid-wilson-proposes-kelly-osbourne\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">proposed to her backstage<\/a> last summer in front of Ozzy Osbourne and family at the metal icon\u2019s final show in Birmingham, England at the \u201cBack to the Beginning\u201d concert. However, TMZ reports that Wilson and Kelly Osbourne have since split up.<\/p>\n<p>The turntablist has appeared on all of Slipknot\u2019s albums except their 1996 demo <em>Mate. Feed. Kill.
