So the <em>Jennifer\u2019s Body<\/em> star and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/beverly_hills_90210\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Beverly Hills, 90210<\/em><\/a> alum\u2014who share kids <strong>Noah<\/strong>, <strong>Bodhi<\/strong> and <strong>Journey<\/strong>\u2014try to follow a key rule.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The number one,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1399509\/brian-austin-green-shares-his-one-rule-for-co-parenting-with-megan-fox\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brian told E! News in April 2024<\/a>, &#8220;is always make sure that everything is centered around the experience of the kids.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>Because as he put it, a breakup is \u201cgonna affect the kids. The only choice you have is <em>how<\/em> it affects the kids.\u201d Part of that, Brian continued, is recognizing that it\u2019s important to \u201cpick your battles.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The person that you were with that you&#8217;re now separated from, you guys are separated for a reason,&#8221; he added, &#8220;because you didn&#8217;t get along. So, you can&#8217;t expect to then get along after the fact in raising your kids. So, you have to decide, \u2018OK, it&#8217;s not about us getting along anymore. It&#8217;s about us co-parenting, which is a totally different situation.'&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Megan\u2014whose divorce from Brian was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1306193\/megan-fox-and-brian-austin-green-finalize-their-divorce\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">finalized<\/a> in 2022 two years after the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/1212835\/megan-fox-officially-files-for-divorce-from-brian-austin-green\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">filing<\/a>\u2014agrees.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think it&#8217;s really important when people separate to never ever disparage the other parent or even in a passive aggressive way make remarks,&#8221; the <em>Transformers<\/em> actress said on a 2023 episode of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=0ggfwQvm8iY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>The Drew Barrymore Show<\/em><\/a>. &#8220;I don&#8217;t let anything in my energy like that when I&#8217;m around my kids. Because if I don&#8217;t accept and love their father, I&#8217;m rejecting a part of them because he&#8217;s a part of who they are always.
